whats really depressing about this game...and i guess most games these days but especially against what has been such a terrible franchise for so long is how much more talented wash is...we can argue here and there over what are probably a couple of washes but other than fletcher cox is there anywhere on the field the eagles are better?

RB for sure

QB Eagles

All the teams in the NFC East stink, and they all stink about equally. That's why they all have at least two losses to other NFC East teams. None of these teams have done anything remotely impressive during the season. The closest thing would be the Eagles knocking off the Patriots, which we all recognize as a fluke.

I give any NFC East team 50% odds of beating another. This gives the Eagles a 25% chance of winning out and another 8% or so chance to back into the playoffs. So 1/3 chance.

Nothing about admitting that the Eagles suck requires us to pretend that Washington is anything other than a really bad team also. Basically if the Eagles had played the Rams and Washington played the Cardinals, they would be in the exact opposite scenario entering Saturday's game.

Rome

But Washington is soooooooo much more talented!

Dallas wouldve ran away with this division if not for their injuries.

Briskly walked away, at least.

I've been less convinced of that as the season has gone on. The Cowboys have regressed in some ways unrelated to their injuries. Romo's QB rating on the season is less than Mark Sanchez's (he threw more picks than TDs). Other teams with garbage QBs and other serious injuries have winning records in the AFC. The Cowboys are better than their record and lost a lot of close games (they are a very badly coached team too), but I think the narrative that they were an NFC contender stricken by bad luck is fictional. They have four wins, all against putrid teams. At some point you have to admit you are what you are.

Nobody is calling them elite, but to say they wouldn't have easily won "this" division without the injuries is mistaken IMO.

They lost close games while Weeden and cassel were the qbs and a few without dez. No way they lose 7 straight with a healthy Romo. Bad rating or not they were 3-1 with him. B

Ok, enough defending that shtein team, I feel dirty, i need a shower.

If I had to say one team in the division is very slightly better than the rest, I'd go with the Giants. They have lost multiple games due to Tom Coughlin. And I don't mean he lost them in terms of scheme or preparation or even overall playcalling -- those things clearly exist but are difficult to measure. I mean games where he literally made a baffling Alzheimer's level decision in the last two minutes of the game that directly resulted in the loss.

eagles giving up a 90 spot to detroit and tampa in back to back weeks was pretty god damn impressive

So the Eagles are wearing black tonight?  Appropriate attire for a funeral.

and some nice chairs.  But I'll take care of that part myself.

I'll probably miss the first part of the game because of a family dinner at one of IGYs least favorite MA chain restaurants.  To be honest, it's my least favorite restaurant:  mediocre food, little room to move, and loud as hell.  I get zero say, though.
