When I was shopping for tile we went to this place on Bustleton ave. The guy (obviously a jew, he reminded me of Murray from Goodfellas) struck up a conversation with us about the Sixers. It's weird old jew dudes love the Sixers, enough to buy season tickets when they blow.

jews in the northeast love the nba because in the early 20th century immigrant jewish neighborhoods were huge in the inner cities...and basketball obviously is the city game...they also related to the stereotyping that blacks went/go thru because they faced the same as a "minority"

as for philly specifically the south philly hebrew team of the 20 and 30's were an incredibly beloved team in the city and a source of huge jewish pride...they eventually became the warriors

wallace is going to be cut. it was reported, maybe even said by the sixers, that they were keeping thompson and landry. but nope. why keep an nba player when there are 10 day contracts to give out to some unathletic doofus that belongs in the d league.
