It's sources. The same was said about Polk. I guess the team told both guys or their agents that they made it.

I like keeping Burton. He's shown enough that the risk of losing him is too much. Casey will be gone after this year and maybe Celek too. So in 2015 he'd likely be the #2 TE.

Kind of like RB, there's too much talent at the position. It says a lot that the team felt they needed to hold onto Burton. Honestly I think even Casey would do well if he was actually used.

This is purely due to Long being injured. I suspect the team was ready to cut ties with Matthews before getting that piece of news. Hopefully they can find someone else on the wire.

I would think that Acho can play better than Matthews. I mean, he is a better LB thats for sure.

Everyone's a broken record with this shtein, but it's true: Chip highly values versatility in backup players. Matthews can play zesty OLB, zesty ILB, and pretty decent special teams. Acho is pretty much an ILB.

Long could have been that versatile guy, and Matthews would have been gone.
