lol what an irresponsible douche

his shoulder is shot and he doesnt tell anyone...2 starts and 500 runs later he now needs a dl stint

lol...now you are trying to hard....this isnt september in the middle of a pennant race....its may on a ship thats sinking....he deserves the right to be stubborn and try and fight thru something after the career hes had

also dont discount the fact that there might not even be an injury....could be a guy thats simply just done but cant confront the fact and needs to mask it with a shoulder issue
i can take a phrase thats rarely heard...flip it....now its a daily word

igy gettin it done like warrick

im the board pharmacist....always one step above yous

Rome

i have a horrible feeling he's actually done.  you don't come back from tommy john at 36.  so sad.

ice grillin you

no he doesnt....if hes not healthy he needs to tell someone. meathead athletes trotting out there to "gut it out" worked in 1971 when no one knew any better.

he wasnt right he shouldnt have pitched. if he just sucks then making up a shoulder injury is even sadder. and lets not forgot 2 days ago he went after mitch, then turns around and gives up 9 runs to a minor league team
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

yeah dont give roy halladay a pass on thinking he could pitch thru an injury because they could have had tyler cloyd make a start or two and turn the season around

gotta love tough guy sports fans

Rome

i'm just assuming it's a catastrophic problem.  He was unhittable two years ago and now he gets smacked around by guys who should be selling hats off the back of a pickup truck instead of playing in the majors.

ice grillin you

he says its a shouldder so either way its not tommy john....it certainly could be catastrophic and im sure it a legit injury but it also wouldnt shock me if hes just simply done...hes old as shtein and weve seen time and time again with hard throwers that when it goes it goes quick

a stat jason stark threw out there that may go against the injury theory?

"In the last calendar year Halladay has the highest ERA (5.76) of any active pitcher who has thrown as many IP as he has (148.1) in that span"

did he hurt his shoulder last may?

Don Ho

What is just as concerning is his stamina. Ever since that game at Wrigley where he looked one step from death's door he looks spent after 3 or 4 innings.  I'm sure if he's injured it may have an affect on his stamina but his overall presence on the mound is as if he is defeated from pitch one.

Shoulder wouldn't be Tommy John.  Probably rotator cuff or labrum.  Of course, anything at 35 (36 in a week) is bad.

IIRC, he was on the DL last season with discomfort.  I was actually surprised that, when he still wasn't effective when he came back, that surgery wasn't at least considered.

... so the answer is likely yes.

Edit:  Also, I think I remember him having problems getting loose even in spring training 2012.

Just checked:  1-2, 5.73 during Spring Training 2012.  Was actually pretty good in April, though (3-2, 1.95).  So who knows.

But here is an article that said that Halladay mentioned having shoulder tightness as early as 2012 spring training.
