Sort of.  If your cable is set to input x and bluray is set to input y, then leave your cable box powered on and set to whatever channel you want to watch and switch inputs back and forth.

yeah thats what i thought...i just want to have the mlb package at my fingertips and on every tv in my house and be able to watch it while seamlessly being able to switch to other none mlb package channels via last channel button or simply by putting in the station number

I stream the mlbtv through my Xbox.   The quality is pretty much the same as watching it on TV now.  You just use the controller to go back and forth with games.

I use Apple TV.  Works great.
