They still need a scorer. This is a huge step in the right direction but they still don't have anyone to close out a game, so being 'definite top 5' in the East is meaningless because they still can't compete with the best teams. Looking at the 2's and 3's is kind of laughable. Turner, Jrich, Young, Wright, Thad.. not a single consistent player there.

one thing having bynum in the middle does is make thad a little more palatable at the four as it will expose him less

also doug needs to implement some hi low sets for hawes and bynum...that would be tough to defend

After sleeping on this deal, I still like it because the Sixers were stuck in mediocrity and needed to shake things up. At worst he doesn't re-sign and they get some cap space meaning they're right back where they would have been anyway.

This isn't the slam dunk deal originally thought. I hate giving up on Harkless, only because he's an unknown. I doubt he's ever a great player but there's always that chance. Not only that but they're not going to have a pick for a few more years now that they owe the Heat a pick for Moultrie and owe the Magic a pick.

Taking Richardson's contract on isn't as bad as I originally thought, this year is irrelevant, next year they'll have to suck his deal up, but then the following year it becomes an expiring deal.

And maybe Bynum doesn't re-sign but there will only be so many teams that can offer him a max contract and the Knicks/Lakers/Heat will be out of the running so who else could afford him and would be a more attractive city to play in then Philly?

You know who will be missed? Iguodala.

Seriously stop with the Harkless shtein. Any pick out of the lottery is a total crapshoot.

seriously....they lost easily their best player on the team...but lets worry about stank ass mo harkless...not that iguodala should be worried about big picture wise as he was gone anyway in the next 18 months but anyone that doesnt think he will be missed a lot on this team next year is a straight hater

"Hmmm...I dont know honey I'm torn here. Do I go for the $120 million or just take the $60 million so we can keep of our view of the Delaware River?"

the sixers can offer him more under the bird rules so they do have an advantage there provided all he cares about is money and nothing else

the top players these days tho seem to care more about the city they are in versus the overall cake

Igoudala was gone anyway who farging cares that he's gone. Mr. 40 degree day. I wasn't in favor of drafting Harkless but if he blows up in Orlando and Bynum leaves its all relevant.

You could say the same about the TBD draft pick traded. Stop being a wet blanket. The whistle goes WOO WOO whether you be riding or not. WOO WOO, come on ride the train, and ride it.

Already said I'm fine with the deal but lol at caring that Iguodala is gone.

It's bold because Bynum was never going to come here without this.  The Sixers now can offer him about 20mil more guaranteed with the extra year due to the bird rights, meaning it's now far more likely he stays here longterm.

I'll miss Iggy but it's a no brainer to pull the trigger on this.

And getting upset about losing the 19th pick before he even plays?  Really?

Does this sound like I'm upset?

If so I apologize, I just like seeing what young guys have.

Well, yeah. He'll either sign or sign-and-trade. More money.
