so the nats have a good team right now...still a half empty stadium for harper's first home game last night.

I haven't been following but what is the hype behind Harper? Was he a top prospect or something? Must not have bee paying attention.

not sure if you're joking. he was on the cover of sports illustrated when he was 16.

hbionic

No I'm not. That's how different both coasts are in terms of sports talk. I've been listening to sports talk for a while now, some local, some national...I just don't remember hearing about him.

Munson

And who's this Andrew Luck fella everyone's been talking about? Is he that good of a cornerback?

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

PhillyPhreak54

no-no alert...Jered Weaver in the bottom of the 9th with one out

Edit - he got it!

He quit high school and got his GED after his sophomore year so he could enter the draft two years early.

Mariano Rivera's knee and possibly career may have died tonight while shagging fly balls.

GED schools should have a statue of this guy in front of their campus. Cool, good for him, I'll root for him. Why not.

Jeff Passan reporting its a torn ACL.

That's a shame.

Munson

yeah that blows, he's a legit dude and maybe the only likable Yankee.

But it doesn't blow for my fantasy team, as I jumped on David Robertson and was in need of a closer as it seems Hector Santiago is not long for the job.

Yeah, that sucks. Dude had a pretty amazing career though and was as automatic as they come.  Except 2001.

MDS

so who wants david robertson in fantasy?
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Chris Davis just put the Orioles up on Boston in the top of the 13th with a single that let Matt Wieters reach home from second.  And Reimold followed that up with a sac fly that brought Wilson Betemit in from 3rd.  Two runs up going into the bottom of the 13th.
