in the last three games lavoy allen has played 67 minutes

in those minutes the sixers are +49

in the 77 minutes he hasnt played they are -7

Greg Anthony said on NBATV last night that this team reminds him of the Pistons who won the championship in 03. Not in the sense that the Sixers have a chance to win it all, but that you can't unanimously named their best player and they all make each other better.

I don't care if the lockout is the reason why they're better, the shortened schedule, whatever - Sixers basketball is once again must-see TV.

they dont need a post player....the days are gone where you needed a big man in the post to win...i sound like a broken record but they need antonio davis...a smash mouth four that can defend the rim and gobble rebounds

they also need a shooter

big picture the sixers arent far away from being the pistons team that won it all in 03 but they dont have anything close to that ben wallace type presence inside

kenyon martin is available.

normally i'd say yes to a veteran who can defend, pound in the paint and plays with a mean streak. i don't want them messing with the lineup right now though.

forgot about that...or maybe its that kenyon plays once every 8 months, so I never even knew..

2 things going for Martin on his last leg---hes got a home in LA and the Clips want to scoop him for depth

apples and oranges. missing rip and deng are far worse losses than just missing hawes

youre talking about losing up to 35 pts of your offense. we know the sixers have stellar defense against anyone, but that game was not a good barometer

I am not saying it didn't hurt them, but the Sixers are without a guy that averages 10pts. almost 2 blocks and 9 boards a game.  That is significant production to lose as well.

Bottom line they beat a good team last night.

This is why they aren't that Pistons team.  I get the comparison but Billups had ice water in his veins and Wallace was probably the best interior defender in basketball at that time.

not to mention Rip Hamilton was off the charts quick, ran around the entire game non-stop and rarely missed his little shot from the elbow off the screen.

the 2 you mentioned, plus Rip and tack on Ben Wallace I dont see the player or style comparisons.
