apples and oranges. missing rip and deng are far worse losses than just missing hawes

youre talking about losing up to 35 pts of your offense. we know the sixers have stellar defense against anyone, but that game was not a good barometer

ice grillin you

they missed their defense more than the pts....sixers would not have been running all over the court like they were with those two playing...especially deng who is an excellent defender...iguodala probably has 9 not 19 if deng is guarding him
i can take a phrase thats rarely heard...flip it....now its a daily word

Where can I find the points for/against broken down by quarter?

It seems like their defense comes out in lockdown mode in the third.

560-440 in the third quarter

iguodala was moving so freely and confidently that he was throwing behind the back passes to himself.

stop it.

He's had a decent stretch of games since he's been getting minutes with Hawes and Vucevic out. Not saying the guy is anything special but he can play a little.

vooch has been healthy for two games...first game back they may have been being cautious but two games back and he still isnt playing tells me lavoy has taken his minutes...as long as lavoy continues to knock down the 12 footers hes gonna have the advantage because of his ability to bang with people and hold his position on the floor...all vooch can really do at this point is shoot...doesnt give you much else

He's not healthy which is why he's not on the floor. He's there in case of an emergency. Zumoff mentioned the same thing against Orlando the other night. He said Doug wouldn't use him unless something drastic happened. Vucevic was playing really well before he was injured so I'm not sure why you'd think they'd sit him in favor of Lavoy and Battie.

And boo friggen hoo with the Bulls injuries. Maybe missing Deng and Rip restricted what they could do on both ends of the court but bottom line is you line up with what you've got and put your best foot forward.

It's funny when another team has injuries it's an excuse why they lost but when a Philly team has injuries - such as the Flyers who have 5 starters out with concussions - it's just because they blow.

i dont think anybody is really crying just being realistic. if you are going to use this game as a measuring tool for how well they are going to do in the playoffs this was not that time. thats all.

sixers had all their scorers bulls had one. i mean kyle korver led the team in minutes on the floor. kyle korver.

yeah ya gotta be realistic not homertastic

that the difference btwn flyer fans and all others...flyers have literally never lost a game that wasnt because of the refs or injuries

I'm going to use Fridays game as the measuring stick. I still think they only win a series maybe two depending on the match up. The thing that seperates them from other teams is their depth. The thing that seperates other teams from them is they have legit superstars. Regardless, they're fun to watch and it's nice to look at the standings and see a decent sized lead between Boston and NY.

I hate him but I agree.  Aside from his usual late game lapses he's been solid

reese125

I say no because he will have to get voted over Pierce, Bosh and Amare and we know that wont happen

ice grillin you

his shot selection has improved but his numbers are on par with his career with the exception of FT's (way down) and 3-pt % (way up)

so no he shouldnt make it as hes essentially the same player youve seen for the past eight years...and hes much less of a player as it applies to the all star game when you factor in his ppg and that he had a couple seasons when he was sniffing 20ppg

i agree i don't think he's far and away better than normal, i just can't see the sixers getting to the AS break in the 1-3 position, and somewhat being the new "in" team, without having an all-star.

ice grillin you

that def helps...i think if he makes it tho it will be mostly because of his defense...not to play it in the all star game of course but because the  coach who picks him will be rewarding him for that...doesnt hurt that hes a good dunker and would provide some highlites when hes allowed to run free down the wing in an all star game

also who knows maybe DC will be the east coach and pick him

His overall quality of play is better this season, he's more of a cog in the machine than he is a guy who thinks he can put the team on his shouldes and win every night. That's the big difference between his play this season and last season. I credit most of this to Doug. I'm glad he's not playing the point forward position as much.
