Luckily, all those other dumb teams that fired their coaches are just going to go apeshtein fighting each other for Andy.

I'm still hoping for Juan so Lurie can make a movie about it.

His movies do better than his football team, so why not put the latter into service for the former?

Of course the year they need a new coach and half the league is looking the drafts the weakest it's been in years.

We won't know for years how good this year's draft is.  That's just a line people throw around to sound like they know what they're talking about.

I caught him mentioning Scott Young and Mike Vick's fargups in the playoffs

Roob said something like (this was as Lurie was walking off) "you're still haunted by Scott Young?" and Lurie was like "ugh Scott Young" and shook his head

That was classic!  "The under thrown pass against Green Bay, the wide open receiver in the Super Bowl". Welcome to our world Jeff.

Whoever asked Lurie if the guy who has guided the team from a 10-6 to 8-8 to 4-12 is really the one you want picking a head coach was classic.

Seriously, Lurie's smug self-assurance is beyond infuriating.  All the talk about the team's success and it being the pinnacle of a place anyone would want to coach and whatnot was hilarious considering they never actually won a farging thing.   Oh, playoff wins?  Sure.  Been there done that.  That isn't the name of the game, motherfarger, so stop acting like your farging franchise is anything more than the Buffalo Bills or Cleveland Browns.

So how come Mudd announced he would be retiring at the end of the season? Unless his contract was expiring anyway, he'd get paid for the remainder.

The contracts for coordinators and coaches are usually one year deals, right?

I think 4 or 5 years is a typical length for a HC, maybe a couple of years less if it's an extension, and they are guaranteed. Apparently it is the same with GMs, at least it is in Howie's case which is why him getting the big contract last year is an additional problem. In the case of the coach, I think the original team is off the hook for the balance of the salary that a new team pays.

no better year to prove you are the gold standard than one with this many coaching vacancies....if lurie is right the eagles should be first on every potential coaches list....right?
