The offensive line is probably 2nd worst in the league to Arizona.

Whoever is back there is farged no matter what.

The line is atrocious but Vick believing he can hold on to it all day is also part of the problem. As much as I'd like to see Reid choke on one or more of his innumerable chins, I'd like to see Foles get some first teams reps under the excellent QB coach.

As a whole, the Eagles offense should be light years better than AZs

Yeah I believed that theory of him holding the ball too long until after the first 3 games. Then from the 4th on he was dodging and weaving with the end result of him taking massive hits after the throw.

Regardless, Reid loves the consistent attempts at 10 plus yard throws mixed in with the long ball. Neither one of them are there due to timing issues and bailing out of the pocket.... not to mention Vick confidence and decision making is horrendous...so is there really a decent chance he would complete those long balls anyway?

If he cant beat or at least stay close to the worst defense in nfl history-- no doubt he's done after the game or start of the 4th q.

Vick has been increasingly inaccurate, and he is no longer a game-changing threat running with the ball (unless you include fumbling it to the other team as a "game-changing" play).

If Reid weren't playing for his job this season, he'd go with Foles. Vick may still give the best chance to win right now but no chance to compete long-term as is play is only deteriorating. Going against a crappy D like the Saints, even in New Orleans, would be a great way to see if Foles has some real game chops but give him some confidence also.

vick doesnt hold the ball to long he bails way to early....he cannot go thru progressions at all...its like a two count and then either bails out or throws it where he shouldnt....hes jusy a really bad qb.....period

between being coached up the last few years by andy/marty i thought there was the outside chance that he put it together this year and made a deep run....this is where the line comes in...with all the injuries and lack of talent there it took away any superbowl chances the team might have had....but dont be fooled....its not the reason vick sucks

vicks completion % from outside the pocket this year is 28%....its really over when he cant make any plays in those parts of the field

vick sucks.  don't get me wrong.  he's absolutely regressed horribly.  but you try running reid's retarded chuck n duck bullshtein without any semblance of blocking in front of you.  hell, dan marino couldn't get the ball out fast enough with these clowns "blocking" for him.

but sure, let's put nick foles in there.  he'll do much better.

i think foles would do better but its not like im under the impression that hed automatically turn the season around....however at least thats a possibility and he represents change and something new to watch...and i love watching young players to see how the develop and if they will have what it takes....esepcially at the qb position....lets just get it started

Agreed on all points. Wins/loss mean next to nothing since they're not making the Superbowl so might as well go with the young guy to see what he's got. Vick is gone after this season so what's the point in sticking with him.

The point is a rookie quarterback can be permanently damaged by getting beaten to a pulp because of horrid offensive line and a coach/play caller who refuses to acknowledge the run as a weapon, much less use it effectively.

1. Get rid of Reid.

2. Hire a real offensive coordinator.

3. Draft or otherwise acquire an offensive line that isn't full of holes.

4. Give them a full off-season and training camp with the rookie leading the offense.

That's the progression you want.

Foles is a big boy he's not going to get permanently damaged. Put him in, give him some quick read routes, and let him build from there.

its not 1987 anymore....rookies of all kinds start now...and thats from day one....some suck and become good players....some start off well and then suck and some are good from day one.....point is it happens all the time and no one gets ruined for life by it....either you can play or you cant and these days you find out sooner rather than later
