Washburn questioned the play calling, he's one of the newer outsiders who actually hasn't fallen under the Reid spell. He's totally right. Its about time a player or a coach stepped up and said something. All you hear from the players is how much they love Reid and maybe they just do it for the cameras, but damn, come on. Anyone with mediocre knowledge of football can see how terrible this team is. The players can't be that dumb or they are just totally brainwashed.

The inmates (insert racist comment here) are running the asylum. That's what happens when you have no leadership in the locker room. At some point Reid has to realize this and address this issue by pulling someone aside and making it known they are the leader, the head coach is also the boss, Reid definitely has his players backs but at some point someone in the locker room has to take the initiative to rally the troops. Vick should be the guy but he's immature and will never be the type of guy to hold other players accountable.

I totally disagree. I think Vick is the only person on the offense worthy of being the leader and he has taken the role. The problem is there is no veteran supporting cast on the offense, other than olineman, who have much experience. When Vick got that contract he kept saying to the media, now I gotta go out and win a championship. Well, a do it all yourself mentality isn't what gets you a championship. Its playing one week to the next and developing an offense with your players. Not just having your eyes on the prize. I think Vick put too much pressure on himself and which has led to him doing things he shouldn't be. I think his coaches are not taking advantage of the real weapon on the offense which is McCoy. The offense is so out of balance its not even funny. Once again, Vick(McNabb, Young, whoever) are no Tom Brady or Drew Brees. You can't force these guys to throw 40+ a game. Especially when you have a back like McCoy who is capable of going the distance every time he gets the ball. DeSean Jackson is no longer that guy. McCoy needs to be the player you build your offense around. Not Jackson or Maclin who have never proven to be consistent yet in their career. Vick is never going to be a pass first QB.

im not pimping fisher specifically but its ridiculous to say ________ has never won anything....as a reason not to hire them...

Fisher, Cowher, Reid, and Schottenheimer are all the same coach. They can build you a respectable team, a really good team that will compete for a good long while. They're not very likely to win you a superbowl any time soon, however. While respectable would be a great improvement over what they are now, I would rather they take a shot on some coordinator that didn't come from the Patriots. That coordinator might shtein the bed, or they might get over that hump and do what one of those coaches can not.

no there not the same coaches....coaches are not lumped together by whether they have won a superbowl or not....coaches are defined by philosophy style substance preperation ability to adapt...how they delegate duties ect...

reid and cowher couldnt possibly be more different simply because one is an offensive mind and one a defensive....to lump them together is being incredibly short sighted due to oversimplification...plus you are pigeon holing coaches who have only ever coached at one place (reid cowher fisher) how the hell do you know that they would turn around another franchise and then hit a wall...as theres no body of evidence from which to make that definition of them...reid might go to san dieago and be average his whole time there...or fisher might come to philly and win a superbowl in five years

anyway by your reasoning cowher is much more don shula than he is andy reid or good god marty schottenheimer

Quote from: charlie on December 02, 2011, 10:06:57 PMhas there been an "established successful head coach" that has gone to another team and won a superbowl?

Coughlin?  He pretty much lucked into the one a few years back but he had some great years with the Jags.

As for Reid's replacement, I want Winston Moss.  He pretty much fits the criteria most of you want....top assistant for a winning team, no head coach experience, defensive-minded coach and would fix the LB mess

P Diddy going on record to say that if they get rid of Reid, he thinks Billick would be the ONLY choice if they chose a former HC and didn't go the route of an up and comer.

Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

thats funny.. because billick and his whole coaching staff is actually a very good example of what lurie should do with reid and his.

although billick even won the sb in 01, his team was up and down since that...but he still made multiple playoff appearances and he finished with an 80-64 record. in 06 he finished 13-3, lost first round, then he was fired in 07. billicks tenure with the the ravens was tied with andy reid at the time.

the ravens ownership knew they werent going anywhere with billick again because his philosophy got old. it just goes to show you, you can win a sb and sit still doesnt grant you life with the franchise with a team owner dedicated to winning championships.

haha

I respect the hell out of Didinger but no way in hell do they replace Reid with Billick who is the luckiest coach in the history of Superbowl winning coaches. As bad as the Juan move was, that would be even worse.

reese125

how was he the luckiest coach ever?

the team was garbage for 3 years before billick and his staff got there. I dont care if some of the talent was there before he arrived, the previous coach couldnt do shtein with it.
