I've been putting to much thought into a head coach since Vermeil left.  Cowher would be the perfect fit.  His style fits right into the NFC East.

The who would Lurie Inc. persue is the frightening part.

Would you take Vermeil back? I would. I don't care how old he is. I remember they talked about hiring him before they hired Reid...then Jeff pissed him off.

I have to believe Philadelphia is a premier coaching spot to land if the FO let whoever came in do their thing. That's a huge if though.  And I'm on board for Cowher.  I'm worried if its a young coordinator that Banner and co may have agreed to hire whoever if they retain x amount of control.  I can't imagine Cowher coming on board with that bullshtein, so if he's here, it's a good sign.

How bout this for a darkhorse candidate: Bill Parcells

Don Ho

A good old ass whoop in from a Parcells or Vermeil would be a welcome edition.  Could you imagine the shtein/players he'd be calling out this season?

Parcells' time is passed.

Jeff Fisher is the only guy I would like to see brought in. No up and comer.

Don Ho

That's my biggest fear, "the up and comer".  This franchise needs someone with a ton of NFL head coaching experience.

Why no Fisher?

Gruden is overrated and his offense is awful.

But you'd take 80yr old Parcells over Fisher?? So he can mail it in like he did with the Fish GM job?

PoopyfaceMcGee

FWIW, I like that both Asante and Shady defend him, and it was awesome to see him defend Pimp.

Established HC
Defensive minded (believes in stopping the run first)
Likes a strong running game to keep his defense fresh
13/16 years they were top-10 rushing offense
During his time in HOU/TEN his defenses finished 4th in that time against the run (12/16 yrs top 10 run defense)
12/16 years they finished with an average of 31 minutes time of possession

He is a strong leader but not a drill sergeant like Coughlin.

I like guys like that who can lead but don't have to get nuts about it. He's got a nice resume and that holds water in the locker room verus some up and comer who is looking to make a name for himself.

He knows Philadelphia very well since he used to work for the Eagles.

Never won a god damned thing.

The man. The myth. The legend.

Reid isn't going anywhere.  They owe him 10 million goddamn dollars.  Do you think Lurie wants to part with that sort of cash and pay another coach something similar?

We're all stuck with this oaf, so deal with it.
