I don't know if I can remember a linebacker tabbed A starter that looked worse. Maybe McCoy? I've seen Matthews get walked out of lanes at least five times tonight, a couple of times the guard or center simply used one arm and brushed him out of the way.

dont get me wrong i dont like chaney at all but its really hard to understand how matthews is ahead of him on the depth chart...he is other level bad

Chaney is playing outside. I expect they will see the failed experiment and move Chaney back inside by the opener and hopefully by next game. Matthews is clueless out there as well as being manhandled.

For all we know he might develop into a solid contributor, given a couple of years. But as a rookie, he is abysmal. I'd like to think they see the light and do a shuffle or bring in a vet, but that would be admitting they were wrong, which is something they don't do.

yeah we dont see practice everyday so maybe he shows shtein their that the coaches like but right now right here as we stand today he should not be anywhere near a non special teams nfl field...chaney while not great last year was at least not a total eye sore on every play

Meh, preseason. hard to get worked up about this game anymore than it was worthwhile to get too amped about the last game. The line gets pressure without blitzing, that's been a huge plus. they just can't seem to tackle for shtein though. The secondary will be scary good. The linebackers blow chunks.

whats even worse is castillo has them playing a 9-wide almost exclusively on 1st and 2nd down. I dont know if hes experimenting just to see how the LB's play the run, but it failed miserably tonight and I expect it to continue.

exposing the middle of the line like that expecting those LB's to fill the gaps is a recipe for disaster considering their lack of talent. matter of fact they were so clueless (or castillo was) when Rothlisberger decided to pull a pop warner qb sneak for 9 yeards.

jesus christ the square stitching on the shoulder pads of the eagle jerseys is awful...didnt think they could get much worse than they were...is that a christina lurie thing or an nfl thing that some other teams are also trying

christina lurie designs everything having to do with the jerseys...thats been well known for years now...shes given interviews on it
