why is steve smith such a big deal to the giants...hes a wr coming off microfracture surgery...the giants were probably right in being cautious with resigning him and the eagles were right in taking a chance on him

hes 50/50 to ever be prodcutive again and certainly will never duplicate his best season....giants need to get over themselves

the one thing i would have liked the eagles to have done is give him a two year johnson...that way if he does recover to a good level (this year which is highly unlikely) you didnt set him up to go to another team after this season...and if it takes him until 2012 to get back to himself again they have him for that season

If he does come back around after this year (which is possible) and is productive the Giants/fans still have one of their sure handed receivers because he would of signed a multi-year contract. The same reason you wish the Eagles signed him for 2 years.

thats not a reason to be pissed...if they really want him they can get him at the end of this season after the eagles have brought him back to health

thats IF he is ever healthy again which is a huge if...yet another reason not to be going over the top right now like the they are...if they cared that much about him they would have had him locked up early...but they rightfully have major concerns about his health...which again is completely understandable but then dont get all bitchy when you lose him....cant have it both ways

all any have said is when he might be able to come back and even those have varied significantly

no one knows how you will respond to microfracture surgery....i dont deny he could easily come back at some point and be a productive player...but theres pretty big risks involved with that injury as well...which goes to my point that the giants should just chill out and stop acting like hes coming off his 100+ catch season
