I sure hope the Phils don't make it to the series only to face the Rays again. A 2nd WS win against them just wouldn't count and it would be top 5 fraud of a WS winner

Thanks, Igy.

The last 30 minutes have just been sick.

Let's not forget that David Price is God.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

Tonight the Braves became the first team in MLB history to to blow a lead of at least eight games for a playoff spot in September. Sox just became the second.

To bad only 10,000 fans witnessed this in Tampa.

Hey, Simmons @sportsguy33, who Young Leek be?

lol

Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Sounds like better attendance than the Braves game.

Official attendance:

Phils-Braves:  45,350
Yanks-Rays:  29,518
Sawx-O's:  29,749

That was Papelbon's first loss of the season.

so fitting that crawford farged up at the end

such a pointless signing for them and its hurting now

Rays going full out with their wild card celebration.  T-shirts and champagne!

They're also circiling the field and high-fiving the fans.  Every fan might be touched!

He wasn't very good this season at all.  Glad the Phils went with Phifer.

One last thought before turning in (glad I can sleep in tomorrow.  Happy Rosh Hashanah, Todd!)

Tonight was a perfect microcosm of the season as a whole for many of these teams.

The Red Sox and Braves had leads and collapsed.
The Rays dug themselves a huge hole and managed to climb out of it.
And the Phils, of course, just took care of business.  Like they did 101 other times.

Nothing is guaranteed in the playoffs, and every team in the tourney has at least 90 wins.  But you have to like the Phils' confidence going in.  Not to mention that starting rotation.
