There's a chance the Eagles will be the opening Thursday night opponent at New England.  (The Steelers are the other option)

QB Eagles

You mean because those are the only two decent home games on their schedule?

They usually don't do interconference so I'm guessing it'll be the Steelers.

MDS

it has nothing to do with interconference....its the best available matchup, generally

steelers >>>> eagles
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

QuoteThe Philadelphia Eagles have named Princeton's inside linebackers coach Stephen Thomas as the team's defensive quality control coach.

In addition, the Eagles named assistant special teams coach Matthew Harper as the team's new assistant defensive backs coach and defensive quality control coach Michael Clay as the team's new assistant special teams coach.

Don Ho

So I guess there really is a job title "assistant to the traveling secretary" out there.

Tra won't be back as an assistant, and supposedly the Eagles hired Alabama's Director of Football Operations Joe Pannunzio, who worked together with Eddie M in 2011

Tra also came out and said the reason why Marcus Smith can't play is because he has the body of a high school or early college player and can't go against NFL linemen.

That never stopped guys from getting on the field when Reid was here.

Quote"What I'll say is ... Tra was right. My body type has to change. I can't look like a quarterback forever. That's what I used to play. I'm still, during the season trying to look like that type. Right now I'm 265, I'm really eating well, trying to maintain that weight ... I'm running with that weight and I'm feeling really good right now. Everything that Tra has said, he's already told me before. When he says that, it's just the truth. I just have to get bigger and stronger and be productive at that weight so the coaches can be impressed."

Tra was on WIP this morning and he still thinks Bust II is gonna be a decent player

hbionic

How ironic would it be if he turns out to be Superbowl MVP for the Eagles one day?  :paranoid

Eagles, believe it or not, were one of the best tackling teams in the NFL last season

QuoteThe best tackler on the team among the full-time starters was linebacker Connor Barwin, who missed on three tackles in 1,046 snaps.

The biggest culprit on the team in terms of missed tackles was safety Malcolm Jenkins, who led the team with 12 on the season.

1. Malcolm Jenkins...12 missed tackles
2. Brandon Graham...10 missed tackles
3. Trent Cole, Mychal Kendricks, Nate Allen...9 missed tackles
4. Bradley Fletcher...8 missed tackles
5. Cary Williams...7 missed tackles

Here is a look at the top ten teams, with their total missed tackles and percent of tackles missed.

1. Cleveland Browns...102 missed tackles...8.6%
2. San Francisco 49ers...94 missed tackles...8.8%
3. Chicago Bears...97 missed tackles...9.1%
4. Philadelphia Eagles...111 missed tackles...9.2%
5. Houston Texans...110   missed tackles...9.6%
6. Denver Broncos...107   missed tackles...9.7%
7. Minnesota Vikings...108 missed tackles...9.7%
8. N.Y. Jets...102 missed tackles...9.8%
9. Buffalo Bills...110 missed tackles...9.8%

sports tv media column i just read had the eagles/pats as the #2 choice for the opener, behind steelers/pats. some at nbc want to keep the better matchup for later in the year. so we'll see.
