serious question....why do people put hashtags on tweets...i know sometimes i see theres a contest or a poll or something where you would do it but why on a random tweet would you put #flyeaglesfly

it's so you can search people that are talking about the same thing, and be searched.  if you search for #flyeaglesfly it'll only pull the people that use that specific hashtag and not all five million tweets that have fly eagles fly in them somewhere.

I was at the 24 Hour Fitness near my home several weeks ago, they all know I'm a huge birds fan.  One of the trainers said "Hey some huge Polynesian dude was just here working out, plays guard and center for the Eagles, Isaac something?"  Apparently he was there all that week.  Maybe he can buy the place now.
