I mean, I trust Andy more than Howie, but it isn't like Reid is some sort of personnel wizard. Still, certainly good news on balance.

I think Reid is a much better personnel guy than he is a playcaller/game day coach.  I know that's not really saying much, but I don't think he's that bad when it comes to personnel.  Besides, I'm in favor of anyone having more say in personnel over Roseman and Banner.  I'd prefer Danny Boy over either of those 2 schmucks.

Reid wanted Peyton but Peyton didn't want to come to the Eagles because he didn't want to face Eli twice a year:

If true I've lost a little bit of respect for Peyton.

Word on the street is Peyton didn't want to go to any NFC team (eg Niners) because he didn't want to possibly face his brother. I agree, it's pretty lame

MDS

in a scary way andy is the last buffer before a Napoleonic jew accountant who didnt even play pee wee football calls the shots

its sick but we kind of need andy
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

General_Failure

Great, so we get ten more years of mediocrity and playoff losses. Yay.

The man. The myth. The legend.

MDS

its either that or howie roseman calls the shots and they hire some nothing coach because nobody in their right mind is going to work under that dork

i suggest you find a different hobby

How many years of bad coaches under Howie do you think they'd go before they get rid of him? There's no immediate hope for this team, but there's no hope for the future either until one of those guys goes.

He does know that the AFC West will likely play the NFC East next year, right?

"As far as personnel control, I have had final say on personnel matters for quite some time here, and that's never been an issue or a point of contention," Reid said today in a statement released by the team, in response to the LA Times piece. "Our front office works very well together and that's one of our strengths."

"We look into everything, as all teams do," Reid said in the statement. "And I have the highest regard for Peyton Manning. But as I said publicly last month, that wasn't the direction we were heading in. Michael (Vick) is our guy."

Honestly, I have no idea what Peyton does or does not know. So, no he does not know that

YAC numbers via Pro Football Focus:

QuoteThe Bucs' Preston Parker led all wide receivers in yards after the catch, averaging 7.9 on 40 receptions. The Falcons' Julio Jones was second at 7.8. The YAC average for the Eagles' wideouts: Jeremy Maclin (4.4), DeSean Jackson (4.3), Jason Avant (3.5) and Riley Cooper (3.4).

Jackson's number will go up [hopefully] now that he has a new deal. Last year he was catch, stop, drop, and roll. Avant is a possession receiver so those numbers aren't eye popping. Maclin's numbers seem low.

MDS

does that also include the fumble return yards after maclin gets poked and loses the football?

Of course.  It also factors in penalty yards for taunting.

ice grillin you

those numbers will never be really high with vick as the qb

because hes so short he cant throw the ball in the lanes that would most allow these guys to catch and run...which are the short and intermediate crossing routes

he great at hitting someone in the gut standing out in the deep flat because of his superior arm strength or throwing the ball downfield but he has trouble getting the ball where it needs to be to allow people to turn and get up field

vicks skill set promotes high YPC numbers but not so much YAC numbers

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds
