I love Philly but I'm not a fan of the Eagles solely because of geography.  You're right that if they relocated they'd be dead to me, though.   But I'm not mocking someone because they're a fan of a team or because of their level of fanaticism.  That's just stupid and petty.

one of my local bartenders is a huge eagle fan from the 90's but has never lived anywhere cept MD...he went to xfinity live to watch both playoff games went to the parade knows a ton about them....he is 100% not a fraud

I'm not in love with bandwagon fans personally but we had millions of them cheering either for us or against the Pats in LII.   I'm fine with that.  I still love being hated, though, so it's definitely weird feeling love from fans who usually detest us.

bandwagon fans are inevitable but because the eagles are so hated theres will be smaller than most...it will probably be made up mostly of 8 year olds who love carson wentz and some zealots

if khanle liked the cowboys because of the colors...or the colts...or the bengals...nobody would be defending him like this

its a free country (sort of, if youre a white male with money) and you can do what you want but randomly liking a team with zero connection to the city is fraudulent. even if you stay "loyal." youre just rooting for laundry. ive done enough hockey trolling to last a lifetime but i celebrate all philly wins, except those dirty traitors from nova.

plus hes from albany which is close enough to buffalo, ny or ne that he can just pick one of those teams.

It's been well known by everyone Eagles fans are loyal and passionate. Pats fans on the other hand barely existed before Brady/Belicheck. My worry is the MA crowd that starts rooting for the team because of the white religious fanatic QB...he's their new Tebow.
