ha..this is fantastic

anybody still think its not all about winning games in the nfl?

people act like the eagles organization invested so much (the future) into Kolb. If you still believe that...check his salary.

Rome

he played great against the 2-14 lions.

we'll see how he plays once the opposition improves.

Well he played pretty well for a half against what most consider to be a Super Bowl contender.  Granted they weren't preparing for him all week...but he still played well.

To be fair, he played pretty well against the Packers too.
I believe I've passed the age of consciousness and righteous rage
I found that just surviving was a noble fight.
I once believed in causes too,
I had my pointless point of view,
And life went on no matter who was wrong or right.

I don't expect the Eagles to be good, but who is in the NFC?

Green Bay and New Orleans?  Neither is unbeatable, everyone in the NFC East and West suck right now.  Falcons?

Reid says he's been going over this for the last three days, and met with Howie today. He also said he's been talking to Kolb and wanted him to know he's still a big Kolb fan.

he hasnt been going over anything...he flat out in no uncertain terms said sunday AND yesterday that cobb was the starter....then he met with howie and the rest is history

Yeah, this is some crazy shtein.

reese125

shtein I dont think Howie had much to do with anything...more like Lurie.

The BIGSTUD

Would the Eagles make this move only to not re-sign Vick at the end of the year?

He has to be the guy for the near future at least, right? Assuming he keeps this up.
Calling it right on the $ since day one.
Just pointing laughing, and living it up while watching the Miami Heat stink it up.

Rome

if he plays like he did against the lions against the better teams in the nfl then the eagles are a playoff team and they're much better than they would have been with kolb.

again, a lot of that has to do with the horrific o-line they're trotting out there now, but still...

its crazy in that andy reid doesnt seem like the kind of guy that would let this happen...but not crazy in that you could see the writing on the wall with the jettison of heckert and mcnabb....both huge andy guys

the question now is does andy finish out his new deal

They could have kept McNabb and been that good. I thought this year was Kolbs to win the job for the future or lose it. Thats what the whole offseason supposedly pointed too and thats what we've all been told by Eagles brass.

Now they do this, and everything up in the air.

no matter how he plays and im far from a vick believer but if nothing else the games just became infintely more watchable...altho id rather go 3-13 with cobb than 8-8 with vick

this has 100% to do with the o-line. this is just a way for andy to not have to admit it sucks so bad. we've seen kolb with this o-line and we've seen vick not need an o-line.  easy stuff.
