and yeah, shady looks good.  I'm not worried about RB so long as he's healthy.  he may not become a rock star, but he's a pro football rb no doubt.

Quote9.

How windy was the Linc? Gusts were so strong inside the stadium that the Eagles activated Dorothy for the contest. Said Reid about Dorothy: "She's got a big motor."

The longest any completed pass traveled in the air in the 2nd half was probably 10-15 yards.  I still think/hope that was a big factor in Kolb's relentless checkdowns.

I'm still simmering over how they came out so flat and just got their asses handed to them early on and how the taterskins seemed to want to deliver the hits and the Eagles did not.

I am sick of them coming out a stinking up the damn joint on defense. Man up, Opie McDermott.

MDS

wait so the defense has to man up, but its on the 5'5, 150 lb. defensive coordinator to do that?

his poor coaching aside, did it ever cross your mind that they got beat down because they simply arent very good?
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Magical_Retard

the thing that sucks the most is that even when the offense was lacking skill players, or mcnabb was going through his annual 2-3 game slump, and reid was calling 70%+ pass plays, the defense was solid. the defense always used to be solid. it can't even be counted on anymore.

and btw how bad does mickell look now that dawkins does not play next to him?

it was a totally winnable game, bottom line. players came up small and coaches came up stupid in big moments.

Here are my thoughts:

- Sometimes I look at my nerd friends who don't care about sports and I think that they've got the right idea. Why the farg do I put myself through this shtein every single year for two teams (Eagles Flyers) that do nothing but break my heart and smash my faith? Is it really worth it? Of course, it doesn't matter if it's worth it because I've obsessed about Philly teams since I was a goddamned infant and there's no chance of it ever going away, but I do wonder what it would be like to not have this bullshtein hanging over me from September to June every year.
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

I've thought this for some time. From an emotional perspective it's a set up to fail and it's stupid, really. The highs of winning usually aren't as great as the lows of losing. Success and a happy outcome only comes from winning a championship, which is relatively rare, especially for Philly fans. Otherwise it ends in dismal failure. Some of this can be mitigated if you have a right to lower hopes and expectations - like if you're a Lions fan and they go 8-8 and you feel a kind of false good, like jacking off to a clip of your favorite actress and it seemed oddly real and satisfying for a few moments. But since we as a culture and race are retarded, we don't recognize anything especially silly about all this. On the other hand, without sports, we all wouldn't know each other.  :(  Go Eagles!

Rome

I can't imagine a feeling more glorious than watching one of my teams win a championship especially considering how infrequent those wins have been in my life.

When the Phillies won two years ago it literally changed my perspective on sports.  I'm still the same bitter and cynical prick I was before they won, but in that facet of my life, it was like a gigantic boulder was lifted from my shoulders.

I know it sounds pathetic and it probably is but the teams I cheer for are like family to me and when they win it's farging incredible.

Maybe then god would stop smiting my teams.

Betting against my team is helping me detach emotionally.  Becoming a father helped too.  I still care too much.

The BIGSTUD

Some thoughts:

If you look at the Eagles roster, other than offensive skilled positions, the Eagles don't have a lot proven talent on the roster. The DTs suck, the LBs suck, Nate Allen looks good but Mikell sucks, Asante gets INTs but can't tackle, Hobbs is mediocre, the offensive line sucks, we don't have another TE who can play a lick besides Celek, and we have no depth across most of the roster.

If you look at the supposed best teams in the NFL and see how overall they have way more talent than the Eagles at most positions, it kind of makes me sick that  an accountant is the GM.
Calling it right on the $ since day one.
