they wanted a true heavy to deal with Toronto and the Rags, the price was way too high for him though.   Last guy they had who was a heavy was Brash, Cote was a middle weight stepping up a class, and he had rabbit punches, not a heavy hand.  Either way, same move i would have expected 6 years ago.

I have a buddy who does some writing and he's saying it's really sounding like they did.  Nothing official, but i like it.  He's a 60pt guy playing for the Blue Jackets, and Rangers before heading off to Russia last year.  Could be a really nice move if true  Giroux/Zherdev on the same line would be ridiculous
