I'm more in favor of laughing at the sheer idiocy of folks dumb enough to speak like Cooper, instead of acting all appalled like he actually lynched somebody. Treat it like he just seriously admitted that he gets handjobs from his sister.

I don't really believe in bad words that should never be said. I believe in bad thoughts and bad ideas. It's kind of lazy when people start blaming people for saying certain magical naughty words instead of for expressing hate-filled ideas, and it helps to maintain the hateful power of those words. When an adult having a serious conversation about that word (which is not the Cooper situation) says "the N word", to me it's like hearing an adult say "poo poo" or "pee pee". We all know the word, the double g sound by itself is not going to kill black people.

Short version: Cooper's a certified low-class moron now, but I hate the focus on the word rather than the hateful and divisive intent whenever this kind of thing comes up.
