theres no reason to take rutgers and syracuse....they would take only one of those and replace the other with md who they really want for the dc and balt markets
i can take a phrase thats rarely heard...flip it....now its a daily word

so youre telling me all the reports are wrong and they dont want at least a part of the ny market?

i dont doubt them going after maryland, too. that makes a lot of sense (it would also open up a spot, maybe a couple, in the acc and i know of one free agent philly school that would be an ideal fit).
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

i hope you have a REALLY good editor...cause this is like the 100th time ive posted something...you read it....then you responded with something completely off the wall and not even close to anything i said

the day i dont read the first two words of your posts and then just assume is the day i admit that what you say matters

also, to clarify, simply adding syracuse doesnt give them the ny market. youd assume theyd want to eventually get to 16, so why not both? if they are content with 14, then yes, one of rutgers/cuse (most likely rutgers) and md is a logical fit.

Notre Dame will end up in the Big Ten, eventually.

MDS

so its likely they get to 14, then go to 16 whenever notre dame mans up and gets into a conference?

they obviously believe syracuse has a chance to deliver the nyc market or they wouldnt even be a blip on the radar much less a serious candidate...they add absolutely nothing else of importance

They add a pretty good basketball program.
I'm the Anti-Christ. You got me in a vendetta kind of mood.

ice grillin you

basketball is almost irrelevant in this mix...it might be a tiebreaker type thing...like if they thought rutgers and syracuse would both equally deliver ny then syracuse might get the offer cause of basketball...but id say basketball is even lower than academics

Reports are now saying that the Big 12 may get a new TV deal good enough to keep the remaining teams intact.  So, there is a very real chance that the 2011 season will see a 12-team Big Ten and a 10-team Big 12.  Nifty.

MDS

texas gets its own tv deal to go on top of the big 12 deal, gets more than okla, osu and tech who get more than everyone else. weighted tv contracts is how they keep the big 12 alive....i wonder now if the pac 10 goes to plan b and tries to get sdsu, fresno, new mexico and idaho or something

besides the Soldier Field game in 2012, ND and Miami will now also have a home-and-home in 2016-17
