right. way off.  must be the hitting coach.  their plenty motivated.  obviously.

BigEd76

the WFC MVP is having a good year but keeps losing because the offense sucks

Let's please start debating whether Cole has a vagina or not.

Astros TV guys = good
Astros radio guys = awful

Every time I got in the truck they were making it sound like the Astros were beating up on the farging Big Red Machine. Hello, fargwads...the Phillies offense is zesty.

Ridiculous game/series.

Absolutely awful.

The BIGSTUD

Here is a depressing stat:

Wilson Valdez - the minor league nobody who didn't make the original roster's batting average is .244.

Jimmy Rollins - the Phils lead-off hitter, former all-star and MVP's batting average is .242.

Let that one sink in. I'll never forget the WFC and game 4 of the 2009 NLCS, but the dude's gotta hit the road or bat 8th. He isn't a lead-off man.
Calling it right on the $ since day one.
Just pointing laughing, and living it up while watching the Miami Heat stink it up.

ice grillin you

hes fine as a leadoff hitter if hes playing well...dont listen to the seamheads...the guy is the ultimate catalyst up top i dont give a flying farg what is obp is...problem is hes 32 now and is aging and isnt the player he once was...thats essentially whats happening to the whole team all at once...guys arent going to be the same at 28 that they were at 32

they still have great talent its just that the talent they have doesnt play at a high level as consistently as it once did which is what happens as you get older

They are lucky as shtein that they aren't further out of the playoff picture.  Hell, the Cards even just lost 3 straight to the Bucs and Nats.

But they have to wake up ASAP or it's bye bye time.

well today is his b-day. the guy got a party and one run. what more could he ask for ?

Athletes don't care about the results of their games nearly as much as fans would like them to.

choke gets IT....

Yesterday afternoon, recent top Sixers pick Evan Turner was kind enough to sit in on a conference call with some of the Philly sports blog cognoscenti. The Villain talked about matters ranging from NBA players similar to himself (prefers the likes of Penny Hardaway and Grant Hill to the more traditional Brandon Roy comp) to Philly cheesesteaks (been to Geno's and liked it, yet to try Pat's), but perhaps the best quote of the conference came when he was asked if he'd gotten advice from any other Philly athletes about how best to handle the city. Ryan Howard, who knows a thing or two about the highs and lows of being on the receiving end of Philly fandom, had thoughts to share.

"He said you gotta compare Philly to like a big brother...some days he's gonna like you and some days he might not like you, but he still loves you, and it's all about what you do and how you do things...but it's always having the support, no matter what."

Agreed.  Why bother publishing that shtein?

Yeah, let's gain at least a game, shtein half a game on the Braves before we get to far ahead of ourselves.

its not even that as much as it is the fact that theres probably less than a 1% chance of it ever happening
