Herndon, fatty Z or Baez.  Your choice....

QuoteCharlie Kerfeld, one of the Phillies' top special assignment scouts, was at Ben Sheets' start against the Yankees in Oakland on Monday night. The Phillies are likely considering Sheets for the back of their rotation. Although GM Billy Beane has said he'd be inclined to keep Sheets because of the influence he's had on the young pitchers, Beane may not be able to resist the opportunity to get one or two hitting prospects, which the A's lack. The A's would probably pick up some of Sheets' salary for the right prospects. -- Jeff Fletcher

Yeah because Ben Sheets has been great.

So I read that Super GM was on with Mike Miss today and said HOF Brown can't play LF...has anyone heard this before?

apparently, the Rangers game is delayed because a fan fell from the 2nd deck trying to catch a foul ball

Here's video from the game, you don't see the fall but the reaction from the fans/umps/players:

Holy crap!  that was insane.  Must have looked gnarly by the reaction of the batter, ump and the players in general.  Place was dead silent.  wow.

every time i read any rumor no matter how legit or how ridiculous about the phillies looking for puitching i get more disgusted over the cliff lee thing...which i didnt think was possible...wouldnt it be nice to have lee and halladay right now and be looking for some bullpen help and another bat...because the thing is that even if they get another middling pitcher its still going to be the offense and pen that prevent them from making the playoffs

hidden in all this as well is the awful joe blanton signing...why was it more important to keep him for three years than to keep cliff lee for one

If you can't play left field where exactly are you going to play?  I mean, every fat kid in the history of time has played left field because that's where they go when they can't play any other position.

And the ending of that game last night was atrocious.  The last 15 outs were excruciating to sit through.

you are thinking of right field...in little league the right fielder was always a chinese kid who wore his batting glove

it's their bullshtein way of saying they don't want to bench ibanez for brown.  he's played left in the minors before.  it's the easiest OF position to play so it's just insulting to say he can't play left.

Nice job there from Werth.  It takes talent to stare at five straight pitches without one hair of your sexy beard moving out of place.

I've said it before, I can not wait for werth to be off this team. He's not as good as his hot streaks like to suck people into thinking. He's infuriatingly stupid for someone who supposedly has such a baseball pedigree.

ice grillin you

if they can get a sweet deal theres no question they should move werth at the deadline
