The Nationals aren't as awful as in years past, and Houston is coming off a series sweep.  The Phillies are all set.  112-50.

Don't get me wrong, I love the deal now, if anyone deserves it, it's howard. But I can guarantee you I will hate this in 3 years. But if they get one more title before 2012... I couldn't care less what happens after that.

Guys as big as Howard almost universally break down after they turn 35.  Those last three years are going to be tough to swallow, but then again, the years really don't matter because at $25-27M they're getting a pretty large bargain anyway.

Still amazing, though.  Jeez...
