We're talking about base hits which are just as hard to come by in this era as they have been over the past 100 years.

wtf?

yeah an over expanded watered down major league baseball with five man rotations defintely has the same quality of pitching as in the past

The BIGSTUD

Are those losers above .500 yet?
Calling it right on the $ since day one.
Just pointing laughing, and living it up while watching the Miami Heat stink it up.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

#169
It was 9-3 going into the bottom half, not 6-0

Glaus single
Hinske single
Escobar single
McLouth 2-run single (9-5)
Ross walk
Prado reaches on error by Miguel Cairo (9-6)
Heyward K vs Rhodes
Brooks Conrad slam vs Cordero (10-9)

Seabiscuit36

Brooks Conrad sounds like a Lacrosse player

rjs246

Or a fifth round draft pick for the Eagles.
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

Let them eat bootstraps.

LOL

What do five man rotations have to do with anything?  Guys still throw 90-100 mph just like they did 50 years ago.  They still throw exploding off-speed pitches.  They still play nine inning games.  A player who hits for .300 in a season (meaning failure 7 out of 10 times) is typically an all-star.

Nothing has changed at all other than the fact that there's air travel and the accomodations are better.

It's still hard as hell to hit a baseball same as it was from 1900 to 1970 and guys that get 3,000 of them are dead-bang HOF's unless their last name is Rose.

And LMFAO at the same guy who insists that football players before 1970 don't compare to the ones playing today, yet uses the complete opposite "logic" to defend a completely indefensible position.

You really are something, IGY.

Scott Schoeneweis was released by Boston on the 1-yr anniversary of his wife's suicide

Sgt PSN

Other than the fact that when they DFA'd him, it was pretty much a given that he was going to ultimately get released, I suppose it doesn't have anything to do with it.

SunMo

the pension isn't something the team in on the hook for, is it?  i thought it came from the union.  if so, it's kind of a fleshpop move to do that to him.
I'm the Anti-Christ. You got me in a vendetta kind of mood.

ice grillin you

im sure he will be able to get by with the 75 million dollars hes made over the last 9 years and 364 days
