The BIGSTUD

I'm fine with trading up for a DE if I really like them. I'm not a huge fan of the DEs in this draft. None really impressed me. I never watched GT and was wowed by Morgan. He was a nice player and I wouldn't hate it if we traded up for him, but it isn't like he's Mario Williams. JPP never stood out when watching USF.

I think it is more important that the team fixes each need correctly rather than prioritizing. Add the best player available and I think Thomas is a better football player than Morgan and much better than JPP.

Just saying.   Same guy calling the shots and all.

I trust Reid's evaluation of DBs better than LBs and DLs by leaps and bounds.

I just hope Howie calls King Cole first to find out if he really likes the players he's targeting.
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

Let them eat bootstraps.

Perhaps you can get a good safety anyplace, but with the exception of Quentin Mikell which was a stroke of undrafted luck, the Eagles have done an extremely poor job of drafting safetys late in the past...Damon Moore, Demps, Macho (even if he was drafted as a CB). I agree w Rome - if they can trade up for Thomas, they have to do it.

Rome

They need a defensive end who can wreak havoc along with Killa.  That guy doesn't appear to be in this draft at the top.

The Eagles are going up to get Earl Thomas.

Figure 13 or 14 and for that they're giving up 24, 70 & 121.

24 to 14 would be done with the skins pick by itself or like 55 and 200

i was talking in a general sense...if youre saying reid will be gun shy to trade up for a DE because of the mcdougle move then id say that quite a stretch...every player is evaluated on their own merits and reid seems like the opposite kind of guy who would let his emotions dictate a draft pick

Damon Moore wasn't awful before his injury, and JR Reed showed real promise before his.

The Eagles are not going to trade 37 to go up 10 spots in the first round.  I already posted this earlier but it's a gut feeling that they're going to trade that for a #1 next year.

Not saying that at all.  I agree that Reid is too stubborn/arrogant/confident to shy away from a DE just because he sucks at evaluating them.

well seems after hearing eric berry on mikey miss that feels the eagles seem to be very interested and may be trying to move up to get him.

The BIGSTUD

The Eagles traded into the area of 15 or so a few times by only giving up a late 2nd rounder in the past. Not sure it would cost much more to trade to 12.

Rome

I'll be the first to buy an Eric Berry jersey if it happens but it's not gonna happen.  It would cost them too much to get into the top 5.

The BIGSTUD

Eric Berry could slip. Stranger things have happened. Teams might be worried about picking a safety top 10 and the talk of Cleveland and stuff could be trying to bait the Eagles to trade up.
