Because of the depth of this years draft, would you be willing to trade next years first to move up in the 1st round this year, so you can keep your 2nd and 3rd rounders?

If you are talking about moving up to say KC's spot you would still have to give up probably your second #2 and a #1 next year.

Didinger was just talking about them moving up far, he said he thinks they would like to do it but it probably would cost too much.

Next years draft minus a CBA means that the draft will be so far a bust.  A ton of underclassmen came out this year to avoid not getting drafted or not making money next year.  Rare situation here.

I can't see any conceivable way they're giving up Washington's pick in the 2nd round.  I'd bet the house Reid trades it for a #1 next year, so that way he can say that he turned the McNabb trade into a #1 pick.

McNabb was already a 1st round pick.

By the way they traded 5th round pick A.J. Feeley for what turned out to be the #34 pick, but that turned into Reggie Brown, who fizzled and was traded for a jock strap.  Good times.

Any opinion on trading up to ~12 and taking Derrick Morgan instead of Thomas?

Diomedes

I don't know man.  With as many picks as the Eagles have, and as few screaming needs, the temptation to trade up for a stud is powerful.

I wouldn't though.  I think there's enough talent throughout the draft that it pays better to use the picks on several solid prospects rather than consolidate them into a bigger bet.

Of course, I don't know how good Morgan is, or will be.  Don't even know enough about him to have an opinion on it.  I do recall what happened the last time Reid liked a DE so much that he moved up to get him.

im super wary of trading up in this draft because of the depth...and that even goes for thomas who i love...i defintely wouldnt do it for morgan...they need a pass rusher...a guy blasting from off the edge and i see morgan as a more talented abiamiri

I almost would rather trade their 1st from next year based on how next years draft is shaping up because of the CBA

I also don't understand the idea of trading up in this draft. If this draft is supposed to be full of talent, why not keep all those draft picks and take the your highest rated player left on the board when your pick rolls around. Surely not all of them are going to pan out, why not draft a bunch and hope for the best?

or wait and use them for when a guy you really like unexpectedly falls close to you and use a mid rounder to move a couple spots instead of multiple higher picks to move way up in the first

the eagles arent good enough to mortage a bunch of picks for a perceived stud...again especially in this type of draft

I think they make some trades and get some players and we'll like some of them and dislike others and be confused by something and look tests will be administered and beer will flow like wine and high fives will be had by all.
