yeah brandon graham better be the truth and be it right away because if they dont have a great pass rush the secondary is going to get torched...unfortunately the front seven is not exactly overflowing with talent so i dont see that happening and really even if it does it doesnt mean the pass defense will be any good....they had the 5th most sacks in the nfl last year because teams threw so much against them and unlike past years they couldnt even keep teams out of the end zone

one thing that should help the d is being a year farther away from jj not being around and a year deeper into mcdermots system...of course that only matters if people like assante samuel gives a shtein about what his coaches are trying to do

so an 11 win team is going to regress to a 6 win team because they lost sheldon fargin brown?

I see a much better defense than last season. Ends are better with the addition of Graham, interior of the D-line is better since Laws looks like he can contribute Linebackers are much better, not have Stewie last season was a disaster. Sims is athletically gifted which is an upgrade at the WILL, SAM remains a question mark. I thought Hobbs looked good in the preseason, nickel corner is a question mark with Hanson, but I like what I've seen from Patterson and Lindley as the 4th and 5th guys. At worst Allen is a great coverage safety, and I wouldn't underestimate the influence of Dick Jauron. I'm not saying they're going to be a shutdown D, or that they're going to do well right off the bat - because they are young - and I'm expecting the Packers to put some points on the board week 1, but I think there are some big pieces in place and there are 4 or 5 guys that have the potential to be studs.

Rome

They're going to give up points for sure but they're also going to be a turnover machine.

As long as the offensive line remains cohesive and the injured players are healthy (admittedly a big if) I can't see the Eagles regressing much at all.

Look, it could all go horribly wrong.  Kolb could be a disaster, the running game could be abandoned, the defense could be swiss cheese and the special teams could suck, but I just don't see that happening.

They were a good farging team last year and I expect them to remain a good team.

PoopyfaceMcGee

That's impossible.  They no longer have EITHER Andrews, McNabb, Gocong, or Sheldon Brown.

3-13.

The schedule might be why this team is worse. I have to agree with Rome talent wise they are no worse off than they were last year.  If the oline stays Peters, Herremans, Jackson, Cole, Justice they should be decent.  The big x factor is how Jackson comes back.  It seems awful early for him to be ready to start week 1.

The defense can't be any worse than it was last year.  I personally don't think losing Sheldon is that big of a deal, its not like he is a shutdown corner.  He was a very good one but thats about it.  Safety should be better just because they don't have a guy starting there out of position.  LBs are definitely better with Sims and Stew.

they were a mirage last year....beat no teams with winning records and got mashed everytime they played a good team...in fact i dont think they were within a touchdown of any over .500

the offensive line alone keeps them at and 8-8 team this year....and depending on how the rest goes it could be much worse...and im sorry but i just dont see this massive improvement on the defensive side of the ball...ernie sims is the only clear cut huge imporement and he cant stay on the field...and im speaking of this year...sure i think graham and or allen could be good players down the road but i wouldnt expect them to be massive improvements this year...i hope im wrong and they are way better way earlier than i think but i just dont count on rookies to make huge differences on defense...ill hope to see some flashes of potential but thats about it....id be happy with six sacks from graham and that would still be less than juqua had last year and im just hoping nate allen doesnt get embarrassed and ball hawks a few ints

Other than last year Sims hasn't had a problem staying on the field.

missing full games hasnt always been his problem hes always got a brusied shoulder here or had to leave a game there because of a stinger....and he has concussion history going back to college....being hurt is not always about missing games...but at least a lot of his problems are because hes a maniac on the field and not because hes soft or injury prone

QB Eagles

6-8 wins
rebuilding year

Basically looking for kolb and some of the other youngins to show they can be solid starters in the NFL

Anything else is gravy. Nothing to be depressed about either, it's time to develop a exciting new core of young players and it doesn't happen overnight.

LBIggle

Exactly.. They werent exactly ripping off superbowl wins before.  Low expectations.  If they break .500 then cool.

Rome

whatever.

forecasting six wins for this team is flat-out defeatist stupidity and it's not even worth arguing over.
