Back when I had a job,
this
is the laptop they gave me. Fast and powerful enough to run any rendering software. But it has a 17" screen so it's about as big as you

lolz.  this is like 8 years of pg short jokes and still counting.  you'd think she would have outgrown it by now.

PhillyGirl

hardy har har...outgrown it...blah blah blah.

8 years? Keep in mind, I was called shortstuff, halfpint and smallfry from the time I was in 2nd grade.

that's because 2nd grade was the last time you hit a growth spurt.

Well, I'm torn now. Because I can get a 13.3" Macbook with the Windows 7 added in and a couple of other things for like $1400-1500 bucks.

That would work, I think. But I'm nervous LOL

do it.  if you don't like it, you can just send it to me and i'll give you my laptop in trade.  everybody wins.

seriously though, you should do it.  you get to keep running windows, which you are comfortable with and presumably, what everyone you do business with runs as well.  plus, you get to learn about mac and literally compare the 2 side by side with 0 money coming out of your pocket.  how can you not be all over that?

PhillyGirl

which is better? Parallel Desktop or VMware fusion? The Boot Camp one needs a reboot to start up the new platform. These other 2 let you run them side by side.

And should i stick with xp since its what i know? or get 7?

macs are pretty user friendly.. i mean its not like its in klingon or something.  and most of the programs your familiar with now are compatible.

and sarge your particular model might be ok.. but its one of the few.. toshiba had a $1.2 billion class action go through against them back in '99.. then of course for the class action on mine in '05 with the faulty mother boards.. over heating.. and the power cord problems to go along with the battery recall.. we got either a 1 yr warranty extension.. or 50 bucks toshiba credit.  yeah.  pretty sweet.  maybe that was alot of money over in asia.. but it doesn't amount much to here.  and why the farg would i buy another toshiba piece of shtein? anyways mines a m35x something or other.  its sitting in my closet until i decide to try and fix it myself cuz they want $450 to replace the motherboard.  the same motherboard they've "replaced" twice before.  stay. away.

and their customer service really makes me love heroshima sometimes.
