chicago should win for no other reason than simple odds...what are the chances of a team as good as them losing three games in a row...not very high...then again since the shootout nothing having to do with the flyers has gone the way it should

False.  The prior two games are past, so the only odds against them are tonight.  It's not like they have to go back and win the last two games again.

The Hawks are home and are still the favorite, but not by much.

ice grillin you

actually blackhawks havent lost more than two games in a row in almost two years...so the odds are very much against them doing it tonight

That's pretty close. It's the stache of Mike Ditka though.

And as usual, you will say that you love to be proven wrong after the Philly team you're giving no shot of winning comes up large.

Your act is more worn out than Larry Craig's funhole.

i wouldnt be wrong since i said i had no idea who was gonna win tonight...i was commenting on clement and morgantis predicition and the fact that the odds are in the blackhawks favor

the difference here is you are looking at it in terms of nerdian mathematics...and i am looking at it in terms of sports....yes we all know every game is 50/50 win or lose...and we are all listed as day to day...but chances are im going to wake up tomorrow and the blackhawks will have won the game

Antti Niemi on Playing in Philly:

"It's incredibly loud and they play a physical game, especially at home. It's a tough spot for the away team."

ESPN offered the NHL an almost $200 million deal to be on their network, Bettman held out so ESPN started airing Poker, which got much better ratings. ESPN pulled their offer off the table and the NHL wound up signing with VS. for around $70 million. Major farg up on many levels by Bettman. ESPN has to promote their station and interests first so not showing the NHL highlights till later is no big deal. I rarely watch Sportscenter so it never bothered me but I've heard plenty of people gripe about it.

I'm not defending Bettman or the NHL's business practices which are both laughable.  I'm saying that ESPN is a group of biased whores who care more about the bottom line than they do actually covering the sports that its viewers care about.

Their coverage of the NHL is awful when it isn't non-existent.

SunMo

it's actually not awful when they care to do it.  Melrose and Barnaby are really good
I'm the Anti-Christ. You got me in a vendetta kind of mood.

SD

Of course ESPN favors their own interests, but they're also the worldwide leader in sports coverage, meaning if there were a bigger outcry for hockey coverage than they would provide it.

I'm baffled by the amount of press the NBA gets over the NHL. I mean, the NBA finals are a complete bore, have been for years. Can you imagine a 7th seed in the NBA making it to the finals? There are like 5 teams in the NBA that are good, the rest of the league is just sort of there.

Munson

The amount of play the NBA gets on sportscenter is sickening. I hear the words Lebron, Kobe, Paul Pierce, etc more than I ever ever ever should.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

After the game Friday night, I was trying to get some Phillies highlights, but all they had on ESPNEWS was coverage of John Wooden's death.  The man was a legend, but he was also 99.  It's not like it was an amazing story that he died.  Show me some farging highlights, fruityheads.

MDS

The nba more than doubles nhl ratings

More people care about hoops

Stop whining. This is the reality
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.
