wow, so if either of those two talk about "the team" over the individual they are talking out of their asses.

lindros was treated differently just like every "superstar."    the difference is hockey isn't a sport where being treated differently works.  most of the players are straight off the canadian prairie and the prima donna thing doesn't flush with those farm kids. 

sure, they make hundreds of thousands and in some cases millions of dollars, but hockey is still the lone professional sport with a hint of the working man's mentality remaining.

it's pretty rare that the star system that lindros played under in philly is tolerated for long, but management coddled him and his retarded father, and the result was disastrous.

lindros was incredibly similar to mcnabb but even worse in how he was brought up unbelievably spoiled

both were babied by their parents but lindros was given anything he wanted by the hoockey machine from the time he was a pee wee to the day he cried his way out of the flyers organization

i currently despise mcnabb with all my heart but i feel like after hes gone from the sports and i dont ever have to see him anymore i feel like ill come once again to liking him tho not to the level i did early in his career

Not only all of what IGY said, especially the part that PG bolded, but the Flyers traded away a king's ransom to get him and got a whole lot of nothing in return. Now that's on the Flyers and not Lindros' fault, but farg that, I still hate his dumb ass.

You could make the same comparisons between them too, they never surrounded him with a full cast of players.  The Legion of Doom was amazing, but they had way too many bums after that line.  Not to mention they never had a goalie, and very likely never will

not at all, but its a valid comparison.  If the flyers went into a tailspin like what Pittsburgh went into, and getting top 5 picks over a period of 5 years It'd be interesting.  They gave up probably the most you'll ever see just to get a player coming out of juniors, and when healthy he was everything you woudl have expected.  Last i heard he was a full blown alcoholic, and he was fired from his job with the NHL as an ombudsman for not showing up to work for 13 months.

Like Mcnabb, people only remember that he never won a farging championship.

Over here on VS is WAS/ATL and the feed on CN8 is only showing the Flyers symbol and you can hear some very poor audio of Jackson calling the game.
