The Lions have found who they hope will be their franchise quarterback. Matthew Stafford ended months of speculation Friday night, agreeing to a six-year, $41.7M deal to be the No. 1 pick in Saturday's draft.

$41.7m guaranteed for some QB who hasn't played a down in the league? Good Lord, does anyone in a front office remember Ryan Leaf? Andre Ware? Akili Smith? FFS...

i'm fairly certain that matt ryan and joe flacco were the negotiating tools used by stafford's agent. 

but yeah, 41mil guaranteed to any rookie is rediculous.
