so is the bible app good for cross referencing?

Sgt PSN

I think bible apps are funny because I'm fairly certain Jesus doesn't approve of cell phones.

Sinners.

Ex-Bishop makes a lot of sense in regards to religion.

how hilarious is it when the interviewer quizzically asks:

paraphrasing - "WAIT A MINUTE you crazy ex bishop!!....you mean hell this fiery place somewhere below the earth where people burn in damnation for eternity was actually made up?" - paraphrasing

This guy is great. Here's 27 minutes on his philosophy of Christianity. He breaks down why the virgin birth of Jesus is most likely untrue and how the texts were misinterpreted. He wrote a book called 'Christianity for the non-religous'

no, he explains how the translation of the texts were misinterpreted by Matthew. The last few minutes he goes into peoples understanding of God and how ridiculous it is to say you're going to be punished because I understand the bible this way and if you don't then you're wrong...and how could you possibly understand God if you're not God. He also goes into how the country pulled back from religion during Clinton/Gore years and how prosperous we all were during that time because we didn't have to deal with religion tied into politics. His explanation of why people are so anti-religion is also spot on. It's like this guy is reading my mind.

you just feed into the religious people when you try to debunk their retarded history with more history...no one has any clue what happened back then...if jesus even existed at all for example....

but when you try to outreason them in that way its a back door way of saying that a vigin birth could exist but that it just didnt happen in this case....to me thats being as nuts as the zelouts...instead of saying this is why the vigin birth didnt happen you should say its physically and medically impossible for a virgin birth to happen nd if you think it did you are a friggin lunatic

people have been called crazy for far less

Even if you don't believe Jesus is the son of God and all the other stuff the historical Jesus is pretty well documented. Saying "I don't believe Jesus existed" is pretty much the same as saying "I don't think Alexander the Great existed" by your reasoning.

well im sure there was a person named jesus...in fact im sure there were dozens....after that i dont believe anything those people say...its hard to reason with people who believe in virgin births....thats why its wrong of that guy to do it....when you dont believe in things like science you are pretty much impossible to even talk to much less reason with

His name was Joshua, actually, but nevermind.

The man. The myth. The legend.

Rome

The Earth is 6,000 years old.  No, really.

Jesus was an extremely common name 2000 years ago so that is absolutely correct.

Here's a bit about the historical Jesus:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Historical_Jesus

I work with a guy who thinks the Earth is only 6000 years old. What's funny is if you talked to him for 10 minutes there's no way you'd think he believed all of that nonsense.
