i don't really understand why people get so bent out of shape when a sports league (nfl, mlb, nba, etc) takes further disciplinary action against a player after they have paid their "legal dues." whether it's vick or stallworth or whoever. i don't get why people don't seem to understand that the nfl is not obligated at all to ever reinstate any player that is convicted of a felony. no business is obligated to hire a convicted felon.

stallworth should (and seems like he does) consider himself lucky for only getting a year suspension from the league.

Considering Stallworth has never really done anything except get hurt, I think he is probably pretty done.

The big difference is that Marcus Vick, who for a short time in 2006 played for the Dolphins, has been sentenced to only 20 days.

Marcus Vick was found to be in violation of his probation arising from a 2008 DUI conviction, per WAVY-TV. The court found that he failed to complete an alcohol education program, he tested positive for marijuana, he missed appointments, and he didn't pay court costs and fines.

Like they say, the scab doesn't fall far from the lesion. Or something like that.

Gun laws should be even stricter than they are in NY. You use a gun in the commission of a crime, you should be going away for 25 years minimum. That's exactly the kind of crime we should enforce with extreme malice. Gun criminals are far more dangerous to society than dope fiends, thieves, etc.

Law stating that law abiding citizens can't carry guns, like the one in new york city, are draconian. But you know that, gun-lover.

If you use the gun in the commission of a crime, which is a completely different thing, then yes, you should be put away.
