the cardinals had the 2nd ranked passing offense in the league last year and were 3rd in scoring...not to mention were 19th ranked in defense

cardinals were 28th in pts given up last year

saints this year are 20th in pts given up...almost a 100 pts less than arizona gave up last year


the key stat above all for arizona last year was having a home game for the nfc championship...a game that had no business being in the desert

i will never understand why a team fires a coach after 1 season.  granted, i don't think mora is a great coach but i don't think he totally sucks either.  firing him after 1 year just doesn't make any sense though unless they are going to do a complete overhaul.

Hiring him was a favor to Holmgren. Now that Holmgren is in another city, they can drop his pet project.

I'm overly excited about this firing. I can't stand Mora, and I'll be happy if he never coaches in the NFL again. Maybe he can get a nice booth job with Gruden.

The Seahawks are now charged with hiring a coach as well as a general manager; Tim Ruskell, who picked Mora to be Holmgren's replacement, resigned during the season.

i would get it if they did have a new gm and he wanted to bring in his own guy, but that's not the case.  at least not yet anyway.

doesn't really affect me one way or the other.  but it's just one of those things that teams like the raiders and taterskins have made an art form of and have been horrible because of it and you'd think that other teams would learn from that.  but they don't.
