Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Wow, did the Saints wait 1 day and let Vilma become a FA, and then sign him again so they could dupe the Giants out of a 1st round pick? Cool.

What do the Giants now get for Shockey? Just a second, or is a third or something else also thrown in?

Edit: because the Saints waited for Vilma to become a FA before signing him again, they get out of sending a second rounder to the Jets and a first rounder to the Giants. Instead the Jets get nothing for Vilma and the Giants get a second and a fifth rather than a 1st round pick.

Schefter reporting Matt Cassel was traded to the Chiefs

PoopyfaceMcGee

In future news, Matt Cassel lights himself on fire.

QB Eagles

With zero knowledge of what the Chiefs gave up for Cassel, I'm pretty sure I already know which side got the better of the deal.

Florio:

QuoteI previously was convinced that the Patriots wouldn't be able to work out a trade sending quarterback Matt Cassel to the Chiefs because I believed that new Chiefs G.M. Scott Pioli and his former colleagues in New England feared the perception that one side got snookered.

There was no such fear, but it won't change the perception that one side got snookered.

Peter King of SI.com (who also does some work for NBC, and pretty much every other media company on the planet) reports that the Chiefs gave up only a second-round draft pick for Cassel.

Wow.

A second-round pick, for a guy who merited a $14.65 million, one-year contract based on his play in 2008.

Let's consider that for a second.  Daunte Culpepper with blown-out knee was traded for a second-round pick.  A.J. Feeley was traded for a second-round pick.

So, with all due apologies to the Patriots, the current score is Pioli 1, Pats 0.

Now that's some free agency excitement there.

QuoteBroncos Insider Vic Lombardi has learned the Broncos are actively trying to shop Pro Bowl quarterback Jay Cutler. Lombardi spoke to Cutler Sunday morning.

I guess he doesn't fit into the new coach's system?  Weird.

Get Cutler! Get everyone! Get anyone! Get cancer!
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?
