Chris Mortenson coming in for a breaking news report on ESPN 2 days ago reporting that Mike Shanahan was so close to signing a deal with KC was the icing on the cake.

that guy went down hill so fast  the past couple of years on having any credible "sources" its amazing they even break to him for a report anymore

QB Eagles

Jeff Fisher told Kerry Collins he has the starting QB job next season. LOL at Vince Young.

Someone told me he is the worst quarterback in the NFL.

rjs246

Correction. The worst quarterback in the history of the NFL.
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

Let them eat bootstraps.

The problem is that you just can't outplay the pedigree of a Penn State quarterback.

QuoteSPAGNUOLO ADDING TO STAFF

St. Louis Rams coach Steve Spagnuolo announced the hiring of Dick Curl (assistant head coach/quarterbacks coach)

Apparently he rubs some people the wrong way but Spags feels he'll fit in very well.

QB Eagles

HOF-bound:

Bruce Smith, Rod Woodson, Randall McDaniel, Bob Hayes, Derrick Thomas and Ralph Wilson.

I'm surprised that Cris Carter and Shannon Sharpe didn't make the cut but I can't argue with McDaniel or Thomas. Those guys deserve to be in the Hall of Fame.

rjs246

Carter and Sharpe not making it is a joke. What the farg?

Cris Carter not making the HOF in his first year of eligibility was a joke.  Him not making it again is an insult.

QB Eagles

In Smith, Woodson, and Thomas, you have the league record holders in sacks, interception returns, and forced fumbles. McDaniel went to 12 straight Pro Bowls and is a 7-time first team All Pro.

Cris Carter and Andre Reed both deserve to be in there, but at least it's not like last year with an inferior WR being inducted over them. Bob Hayes doesn't count since he's a Senior Committee pick who is going in more for how he changed the game of football than for his skill level.

Rome

Cris Carter is, statistically speaking, the second best wide receiver in NFL history.  If career production like his doesn't warrant a first ballot induction, then I don't know what does.

(Note - he won't be for much longer with Harrison, Owens & Moss passing him, but still...)

Next year Emmitt Smith and Jerry Rice are eligible. It's a crime if Carter isn't one of the other two. Tim Brown is up also, so things aren't looking good for Andre Reed.

In 2011, Marshall Faulk, Jerome Bettis, and :deion are all eligible, so there might be only one open slot.

I could not disagree with this more. Bullet Bob was fast, the fastest man in the world at one point in time, and that is what got him into the NFL. But he had skills to go along with his speed. He was a three time pro bowler and a four time all pro. He played in the NFL for 11 years. He had over 70 tds. and an avg. of 20 yds. per catch. Both of those remain Cowboy franchise records. He also returned punts and in 1968 was the NFL's leader with a 20.8 yd. avg.

Bullet Bob was the single reason why there is today a zone defense in the NFL, because back in the sixties, there was no one man who could cover him. He played on the first ever Cowboy team that won a Super Bowl. He was one of the greatest Cowboy receivers ever.

You don't put up the kind of stats he had without having skills. He was fast as anything, the first and only man to win a gold medal in the Olympics and have a Super Bowl ring. Imo, the only reason he wasn't voted in the HOF before now is because of voter bias due to his drug problems.

He was one of the games pioneers, and deserves to be in the HOF.

Bod Hayes has NO business what so ever being in the HOF. It is just a product of the dallas propaganda/brainwashing machine.

Was he a great Olympic runner? Yes. This has nothing to do with pro football or its HOF.

Was he instrumental in defenses changing to zone coverage? Yes, but so what if he has nothing more than a decent 10 year career?

He went to the Pro Bowl only 3 times which is nothing for a HOFer, and that was just in his first 3 years - he never went again after that. And only  2 (first team AP) All Pro selections.

He only had two 1000 yard seasons, and one of those he just barely made it with 1003 yards. This is HOF material?

- There are only 20 modern era WRs (post WWll) in the HOF. That's it.

He is tied with 8 other players for #55 all time in TDs.

He is ranked #90 in in receiving yards - and that includes a number of TEs and RBs who had more.

He is ranked #210 in receptions. 210     (well, tied with Freddie Solomon at #210.  Freddie. Solomon.)

He only led the farging cowboys in receptions 3 years. He was just a one trick pony - go long. Think Todd Pinkston on figure skates.

It's a farce. Farg Bob Hayes,  farg dallas, and farg the cowboy slurping media.

Nice running in the Olympics though.

Chris Carter can be the new Art Monk every time the HOF inductees are announced now.

The man. The myth. The legend.
