WESTBROOK IN, BUCKHALTER OUT FOR EAGLES

As the Philadelphia Eagles prepare to play a season-making (or season-breaking) game against the New York Giants at the Meadowlands, they'll have their starting running back, but they won't have his backup.

Sal Paolantonio of ESPN reports that Brian Westbrook will start, and that Correll Buckhalter won't play.

Westbrook had been listed as questionable with knee and ankle injuries.  He missed practice on Thursday and on Friday.

Buckhalter is listed as doubtful with a knee injury.  He didn't practice at all this week.

The Eagles currently are 6-5-1.  If they run the table and finish 10-5-1, they'll likely secure a wild-card berth, edging out any 10-6 teams by virtue of their tie against the Bengals.

But if the Eagles lose only one more game, they'll end up at best 1/2-game behind all 10-6 teams, and likely will spend another season not in the playoffs.
