I've been on the waiting list since the end of the 2001 season. I don't expect to ever be called for them.

That's the point......

Why bother having a waiting list if the team has no intentions of ever actually contacting anyone from that list.  If they want to take available season tickets and sell them as part of the tailgating package, fine.  Annoying as it may be, I can't hate on them for wanting to maximize profits.  But quit dangling carrots in front of the fans by having this list that goes no where.

Right.

Again...I don't disagree with any of this.

But until the current consumer behavior changes, as in...they stop paying...the eagles, or the nfl, have no reason to change their tactics.

They could behead fans at half time, and as long as the stadium is sold out with people who paid $150 per ticket...and $20 to park are filling the seats...they will continue to do so.

jesus thank you...its not rocket science

but i do disagree that taking a few dozen tickets and getting 200-300 a game for them instead of 100 is not really a profits issue...to me raising ticket prices on 70 thousand seats would fall into that category...the sickening thing about this is the tailgate packages rarely sellout

if they really wanted to maximize profits they should change their colors back to kelly green or green and silver

why dont the tailgate packages sell out then?

and for the last time this isnt a supply/demand issue...if it was all upper level seats would be 150+ dollars each...its not even a money issue because there are tons of ways the eagles could make infintely more money off the fans than the peanuts they are making off this okie doke they are pulling with tickets becoming available

where my boy ttlaboof at?

I would actually invest in one of the tailgating packages if that were the offered entertainment.  Cheerleaders shmeerleaders.

I'm still waiting to find out where i am on the list.  It shouldnt be long now, the email i got in 2005 said in a few weeks
"For all the civic slurs, for all the unsavory things said of the Philadelphia fans, also say this: They could teach loyalty to a dog. Their capacity for pain is without limit." -Bill Lyons

This is America.  We don't even know what the definition of the word "is" is.  We're a long farging way away from defining the word "few" properly.  In fact, that's probably a prerequisite to our notification from the ticket office, hence the delay.

*An added bonus of this is that they could then contribute to a Roth IRA!
Your sneaky, off thread, crack is illogical, incorrect and unfunny.

sneaky?  yes
off of thread?  redundant
illogical?  absolutely
unfunny?  always

But it was absolutely correct.  If they had military-level salaries, the Roth IRA would be a very useful tool in their collective retirement planning!

Your punctuation is making me irate.

Thinking they should be "fair" and "nice" is the funniest thing I have heard in a long time.

It's not the job of a corporation - a privately owned corporation who has no one to answer to other than the league - to be nice.  Leave that to the non-profits, charities, and hippies.  The job of a corporation is to make as much money as possible.

The waiting list is a scam - if the numbers are correct that 15 people were moved into season tickets last year, that's awful from a fan point of view.  BUT, the eagles made good on a promise to provide tickets to the waiting list, as incredibly small as it was.  It's not supply and demand - IGY is actually right about that, but it is about mo' money, mo' money, mo' money, and to think otherwise is naive and illogical.

I never said it was a supply/demand issue. But it is a money issue. To think otherwise is a joke.

There is no reason for the eagles to be "fair" about it, when their customer will buy anyway...and as long as they are compliant with league rules and city laws or agreements.

I don't believe you.  Irate people always use exclamation points.  You know.....because they're irate.  I'm going to take a guess and say you are nothing more than highly annoyed.  But that applies to pretty much everything, not just Freddie's use of punctuation.

what about thinking they shouldnt lie and trick the fans...is that funny too?

the team can make gobs of money without scamming the fans

theres a difference bwtn raising prices and deceiving the customer

i dont know why this is so hard to see

Maybe you should be less worried about my lies and more worried about registering for the Keeper League.
