QuoteAfter being traded twice in two summers, it appears Joffrey Lupul won't be moving this offseason.

According to the Team 1260 Radio in Edmonton, Lupul has agreed to terms on a four-year extension with the Philadelphia Flyers. An announcement is expected to be made on Monday.

Last season, Lupul scored 20 goals and added 26 assists for 46 points in 56 games with the Flyers. He added four goals and six assists in 17 playoff games.

After a successful junior career with the Medicine Hat Tigers, Lupul was drafted seventh overall by the Anaheim Ducks in 2002.

In two full seasons with Anaheim, the Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta native amassed 41 goals and 87 points. During the lock-out season, he scored 30 goals with Cincinnati of the American Hockey League.

Following the 2005-06 campaign, Lupul was dealt to the Edmonton Oilers in the Chris Pronger trade. The 24-year-old struggled in the Alberta capital with just 28 points in 81 games and a -29 rating.

That led to another trade, this time to the Flyers along with blueliner Jason Smith. Defenceman Joni Pitkanen and veteran Geoff Sanderson were sent to the Oilers.

Great to see he's gonna b e around for 4 more years.  If he was healthy, he was on pace for at least 30 goals, but hatcher broke his neckspine, and concussed him.

Looks like they ditched the ugly white nameplate but otherwise it's the mid 70s jersey as expected:

pic

ice grillin you

nice i just wish they were replacing the black not their third jersey

youre crazy i love the throwback nameplates

this jersey is a completely different orange than the stanley cup jerseys of the 70's...this is the same orange as their alternate jerseys of the past few years...

the style looks similar as the throwbacks...id be interested to see if the neck is cut the same way...also the orange on the new ones doesnt seem to come around on the elbow as much as the old ones but its hard to tell from that pic

i can take a phrase thats rarely heard...flip it....now its a daily word

igy gettin it done like warrick

im the board pharmacist....always one step above yous

QuoteSo if the Flyers make a deal with the Panthers for Jay Bouwmeester that opens some cap space and a spot or two up front, who wants to bet that Brendan Shanahan winds up in Philly if the Rangers once and for all say no?

I'm the Anti-Christ. You got me in a vendetta kind of mood.

Anyone who has to choose between those two and goes for Briere should spontaneously combust.

Is it just me or does the Briere look like Chris Therien

Smith is gone, and the assumed new captain is probably Richards.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

I thought Briere wore the "A" since Gagne went out with injury.

EDIT:  Nope.  Just checked some pics from the playoffs and confirmed he didn't have one.  Munson's explanation still makes no sense regardless.

Looking into a report from a source in Florida who couldn't tell me much but did tell me that a Bouwmeester trade "is so much closer than it was 24 hours ago."

When I pressed him as to where Jay Bo could be heading he told me the following...

"For now I can only alert you to the fact that the team that has put together what I consider a MASSIVE deal is in conference, but not division."

Well, with Richards as the new C, they probably are going to name a new A, so either Breire is already it...or the makers are assuming he will be.

STFU.

Kimmo very well might be the C, with Richards and Gagne as A's.
