The Black Hawks are gonna choke on Campbell's deal.   And LOL at the washed up goalies getting signed left and right.

I like the Ossi and Metropolit signings.  Ossi was a very good young player who got into a serious accident, hasnt really looked the same.  Apparently he was the best Dman in the SEL, and a one year 1 million dollar deal is pretty damn good.

The Hockey News on XM is saying that the flyers are in the running for Dan Boyle and Jay Boumeester.  farg Boyle, get Boumeester.  Imagine him and Coburn playing together.

I was thinking Lupul, Parent, and a shteinload of draft picks. Adding Bouwmeester would give the Flyers 3 top pairing guys. Unless Tampa is willing to take a salary dump in Hatcher and Knuble I'd forget about Boyle.

Holmgren gets a new 3-yr deal and they signed Arron Asham

Gotta be a trade brewing, already 3 mill over the cap, this signing is weird.

QuoteFLYERS SIGN FORWARD ARRON ASHAM TO A MULTI-YEAR CONTRACT

(July 7, 2008) - The Philadelphia Flyers announced today that they have signed 5'11, 205-pound free agent forward Arron Asham (AIR-ruhn, ASH-uhm) to a multi-year contract according to club General Manager Paul Holmgren.

"Arron is a hard-nosed aggressive winger that can play a lot of different roles for our hockey team," said Holmgren in making the announcement.

"I think it's great," said Asham. "I've always wanted to play with the Flyers. I think their style of game suits my game to a T. It's definitely going to be exciting to come here and wear the orange and black."

Asham, 30, recorded six goals and four assists for 10 points and 84 penalty minutes in 77 regular season games for the New Jersey Devils this past season and registered one assist and two penalty minutes in five playoff games.

A native of Portage La Prairie, Manitoba, Asham has posted 64 goals, 71 assists for 135 points and 537 penalty minutes in 498 regular season NHL games over nine seasons. In 23 career playoff games, he has registered one goal, three assists for four points and 22 penalty minutes.

Asham was originally drafted by Montreal in the third round (71st overall) of the 1996 NHL Entry Draft.
