My hit rate is the same or better than who I am fighting.  The problem is that I'm doing no damage.  Looks like I have to pour some into strength.  Like I said, it doesn't make sense for strength to affect gun damage, but apparently it does.
An ad hominem fallacy consists of asserting that someone's argument is wrong and/or he is wrong to argue at all purely because of something discreditable/not-authoritative about the person or those persons cited by him rather than addressing the soundness of the argument itself.

So, what does cocaine do for you in this game?

Much like real life, I've never tried it.

All drugs are for healing purposes and restore your health.  The higher you advance in levels, the more health points you have at 100%.

Level 11 - 600 health
Level 3 - 200 health

At lower levels, maryjane will give 100% health when your health is at 0%.  I believe MJ is good for 200 health points per use.

At higher levels, mj may only replenish your health by 1/3 or less so it would take multiple cigaweeds being sprayed into your mouf to get back to 100% health.

The stronger the drug, the more health it restores.

I've got 600 health and 1 cocaine will give me a full restore from 0%

I am a nerd.  A major nerd.  A math nerd.  I've passed actuarial exams.  I got perfect scores on standardized tests.  I have worked in IT since college, and I still frighten my own friends with my level of nerdery.

You're making me feel cool.  Stop analyzing and focus on your training, Hoyda.

Sgt PSN

Got the gun back C.  Thanks.

I have been focusing on my training, but apparently not in the right areas.  You don't get an advantage in this game by keeping all your stats balanced.  The problem is that the rules don't explain enough to have a strategy.

Yeah, level seems to trump all.

I'm level 8. Let me take a run at you with tasers...

Go ahead and do this - I want to see what happens.  Remember to post the log.

Best to be safe and base it on how you stack up against others.  I try to work on training the stat that's lowest in ranking, not lowest in raw number.

In your case, strength is clearly a problem.

So, I have a lot of catching up to do on Labour, right?

If you don't know what the stats are for, how do you know which ones matter?

Should I put some more in combat too?

Other than Cerevant, I haven't attacked anyone since the gang war ended.  Been spending all my time in the gym or committing crimes for cash and exp.

Jack Bauer needs to hurry up and give us our scavanging steps for today.

SunMo

don't worry about labour...that's only for getting a job, which you don't need now.

focus on strength, combat, and marksmanship
I'm the Anti-Christ. You got me in a vendetta kind of mood.

Cerevant

Theory: I think Combat and Marksmanship do the same thing, one for melee and the other for ranged.

Should someone who is not carrying a melee weapon put any points into combat?

Are you saying that Agility has limited/no use?  I'm starting to agree...

Forget about labour.  The only thing it does for you is helps you get a better job.

Currently, I've got a job as a Lt with counter terrorism and this is what I get out of it:

You currently work in the Counter Terrorism Unit! You receive $1600 each day at 5pm!
You also receive 12 IQ, 30 strength, and 24 labour!

In order for me to get my next promotion I need to accumulate 3000 labor.  With that comes $3250/day in pay and I'm guessing somewhere around 20 IQ, 40 Str, 30 Labor.

As you get higher in the game you start accumulating money in such large amounts that $3250/day is almost meaningless.

I can gain over 200 points for strength or labor or whatever stat I want to work on by doing a max workout and then waiting a half hour for my energy to replenish itself and then doing it again.

As far as I know, your job doesn't have any bearing on what you can do within the game.  It doesn't make you stronger or anything so I wouldn't bother building up your labor.  Focus on the stats that you need to whoop up on somebody.

Sgt PSN

IQ is the only thing a job gives you that's worth a damn.  So after a hard day of scavanging you should have accumulated on avg about 20 crystals.  Convert them into IQ and that's 100 IQ points per day.

PoopyfaceMcGee

You're convincing me.

By the way, cowboydan attacked me again and lost again.  I mailed his gang leader and asked for permission to retaliate if attacked again.  We'll see how that goes.
