Here's what the tutorial says:
1) Strength determines how much damage you do in battle,
2) Agiligty is used to determine your hit rate in battle,
3) Guard reduces the amount of damage done to you when you are hit,
4) Labor and IQ are used to what jobs you are able to do.

Problems I see with the above:
1) It seems that if you have a high enough guard, certain guns won't touch you unless one of the stats come into play.  Does Marksmanship affect damage?
2) Combat always alternates.  Does the log consolidate multiple hits (from high agility) into one step, or are no action steps by your opponent listed as misses?

The one thing I have learned: until JB fixes the combat system, I would recommend against carrying a meele weapon.  The game seems to be randomly choosing your weapon during combat.  If you have only one, it will have to always use that one (I think - this is something I'd like to test)
Ask Jack Bauer if he doesnt know, then he'll ask Chuck Norris, who in turn will ask Cole

The problem with asking the coder is if you uncover a loophole that can be exploited, he'll be inclined to fix it before you have a chance to exploit it.
An ad hominem fallacy consists of asserting that someone's argument is wrong and/or he is wrong to argue at all purely because of something discreditable/not-authoritative about the person or those persons cited by him rather than addressing the soundness of the argument itself.

He purchased the code from Dabomstew, its available on Apexgaming i think.  Might want to do some searching of the interwebz

Yep, it's definitely a template he's done some minor customization to.

Anyone know what the other names for the game are?

so i'm noticing that there's no real reason to ever "leave" someone after you attack.  i've been mugging people and getting just as much EXP as when I leave them.  plus you steal a few bucks from them and end them to the hospital.

Cerevant

I never noticed getting xp from mugging...does it show up in the text, or does it just appear on your stats?

You'd probably need to check your exp before mugging them and then after to see if there's a change.  I've noticed that the game doesn't always tell you when you gain exp after doing things.....crimes, training, etc.

The amount of exp you gain from things seems to be as random as scavanging.  You could commit a crime and get 10 exp and commit the same crime later and get 2 exp.  Try it a 3rd time and get 15 exp.

I think I'm going to pour everything into guard for awhile.  It doesn't matter if you are only doing 1 pt of damage per attack if your opponent can do 0.

If you pour into agility, they won't even be able to hit you.  If you pour into guard, when they hit you, it will hurt less.

That's my read on it.

Here's where the template for this game comes from...

it says in the text "you stole $xxx and gained xx%EXP"

The one stat that I think is completely useless is Labor.  Ignore it.  I wasted a lot of time building it up so that I could get better jobs when the truth is, the jobs are completely meaningless in this game.  So maybe they pay you a couple grand a day at the high levels.  So what?   The stat points they give you are so miniscule that they aren't worth the hassle.

I'm ranked 29th in Combat and 13th in IQ.  I'm good on those for a while.  My Strength, Agility and Guard are lacking a little though.
