Google Chrome is available for download now. I'm trying it out, but I don't think I'll stick with it. At least not with the default skin. It's giving me visual diabetes.

I get nervous downloading the 1st beta test of anything new...especially a web browser. There is a risk involved

They most likely will have 3 betas before the final product is released. You are almost better off letting the other guinea  pigs go first

My thoughts on Chrome:

Definitely fast.  It will make a big difference if you are a heavy google (gmail, reader, docs) user.
Looks like it gives up on images very quickly - very annoying.
It is a little too minimalist for a long time firefox user.
It doesn't remember the proxy password.
Sometimes you need to reload a page 2-3 times to get it working (including gmail)

It has some promise, but it is a very buggy early release.

It would take me 14 days and 8 hours to walk to The Linc....

Turned on my TV this morning and FIOS has added about 50 new HD channels. Sick.

I still think FIOS is great.

The only downside I've run into so far is that customer service doesn't have their act together yet ( they're still sort of siloed for TV/Internet/Phone).  But the only time I've had to call them is to check on the status of my $200 best buy gift card...so it isn't like it's a major problem.  I still can't believe they gave me $200 and a free month to switch.  It's light years better than what I had before and cheaper.

As a pointless aside, I just used the $200 gift card toward a snazzy new laptop which somehow seems to be taking better advantage of the FIOS speeds.

Sign up for One Bill if you can Zanshin, i hate regular Verizon people, but the One Bill group is their best call center people, and they really resolve every issue i've ever had

I have One Bill, but I didn't know they had a special number to call.  That's been the issue more than anything....not knowing who to call or getting bounced around. Guess I should actually take a look at the bill.

Barkann just announced on CSN that ALL games (Sixers, Flyers, Bums) will be in HD now. Not just home games.
