why go through all the hassle of playing a game in london & not even make it a prime time game...or at least one of the late games?

is it because of the time difference?
lemonade was a popular drink and it still is

Yes, London is four hours ahead of us this time of year. I don't think Londoners would show up for an NFL game starting at midnight when they have work the next day.

The whole purpose of these games is to increase interest in the NFL in the UK, not get US ratings.

They could make it a 415 game then, right?
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

kick off at 10:15 p.m. local time?  yeah, that would sell

QuoteTE VERNON DAVIS EXITS THE GAME EARLY

Singletary also discussed what happened with Vernon Davis, who left the field a few minutes after being flagged for an unsportsmanlike penalty late in the third quarter.

"It's something I told players at the beginning of the week," said Singletary. "I will not tolerate players who think it is about them and not the team. We can't make decisions that cost the team, and then come off the sidelines and it's nonchalant. I'd rather play with 10 people and just get penalized all the way until we have to do something else. Rather than play with 11, when I know that right now, that person is not sold out to be part of the team. It's more about them, than it is the team. You can not play with them. You can not win with them. You can not coach with them, can't do it. I want winners. I want people who want to win.

"I told him he'd do a better job for us right now taking a shower and coming back and watching the game than going out on the field, simple as that," continued Singletary.

Singletary said he would have to "think about" whether or not Davis would be the starter following the bye.

He also said that Davis attempted to talk to him after the game, but that he told his tight end, "You don't want to talk to me right now."

So who's going to be coaching them next week?

The man. The myth. The legend.

Yep, Singletary is awesome. Sure, he just got blown out by a horrible Seahawks team in his coaching debut. And sure, the defensive unit he was helping to coach was giving up an average of about 30 points, mostly to mediocre teams. But he looks cool, has a tough attitude, and was an awesome player. That automatically makes him an awesome coach.

its way too early to tell, but the old cliche might just fit Singletary here

It was also his first game coaching a TERRIBLE team. Yes, lets judge his head coaching ability on that.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

Yes, the evidence that he is a terrible coach is equal to the evidence that he is an awesome coach: zero.

Yeah but no one said he was an awesome coach. Just that he is awesome. And I agree, for that, he is badass and awesome.

I like what Singletary did there and I like how he explained it.  If he treats everyone on the team like that, it could blow the team up for a year or so as the whiners shake out but if the ownership sticks with him, that kind of culture will engender a tight team.

I used to think coaches like that would alienate todays player, but guys have to respect him with what he's done on the field. Wether he has the skills as a gameplanner and strategist to command that same respect is as yet unknown. But I like the fact that he's getting the chance.
