Rams RB Steven Jackson recently talked about a new health care procedure:

"I had a colonic," Jackson said, referring to the trendy colon-cleansing therapy that is akin to an extended enema on steroids. "My girlfriend had the bright idea: 'Let's go get your system cleaned out.' It lasted about 45 minutes, and by the end, I (expletive) wanted to cry. Let's just say I got stabbed in the (rear) six times."

There's more if you're interested:

"I went in there and put on a hospital gown and lay there face up on a table with a hole underneath, and I was totally nervous.

"My hands were covered in sweat, and the (colon therapist) lady comes in and starts talking my ear off. There's this thin hose-type-thing that you put up there that shoots water into you and sucks everything out, but I had trouble getting it in, and then it kept coming out. The lady had to come back six different times and put it back in there. It was brutal."

Interjected Jackson's girlfriend: "Trust me, she didn't mind. I was having mine done in the next room, and she kept coming in to tell me how fine he was. I was like, 'Could you please stop hitting on my boyfriend while you're cleaning out my colon?' When we got done and he walked out to the waiting room, I said, 'Steven, are you OK?' He said, 'I don't want to talk about it.' I swear to God, he looked like a kid who'd been in there with R Kelly."

farging hilarious.  I love this couple.

more please

This may be the first "celebrity" couple worthy of their own tv show because that right there is entertainment.

QB Eagles

Right now nfl.com is featuring videos from last season: the top ten plays, the top ten individual performances, the top ten catches, and the top ten runs. You can't argue with some of the choices, but overall I thought the lists were kinda shabby. Very questionable choices and very questionable ordering.

The only :cfhead representation was Curtis' one-handed catch against the Vikings. The Eagles weren't even the victim in any of the other videos.

Goodell on rookie contracts

He's 100% right, college players haven't taken a snap yet yet they're making $10 mill per season. Ridiculous.

I too think the rookie pay scale is all out of whack...but it has been for a long time now.

Why all of a sudden has it become an issue for NFL leadership, the media, and the fans to discuss?  I mean, why didn't this become a hot topic five years ago rather than now?   I don't have an answer; this isn't a rhetorical question.  I just don't get how some subjects become leading stories in our public discussion and others don't.

Has it been the result of high profile busts like Jerome McDougle, Freddie Mitchell?

QB Eagles

I think it's because of the failure of the CBA. The established players and owners are fighting over money, yet here's all this money going to totally unproven players that neither side really represents. I think he wants that money to be one extra bargaining chip that can be on the table.

Yes.

Still, it's not the first time a high profile rookie gets drafted in the first round, paid big, and then flops like a flounder. Heath Shuler comes to mind.

The issue has been brewing up for I would guess a year or so now, judging from my extremely non scientific review of memory, but I'll accept this event as a good explanation for the sudden interest in this long standing problem anyway.

Tagliabue should get 90% of the blame for letting it get out of hand. Here's an article from '93, Tagliabue had a chance to nip it in the but before it got out of hand but instead let agents, the NFLPA, and the players dictate the pay scale.

Quote"I was reading some place that the number of draft choices signed and in camp now is ahead of what it's been in recent years," he said. "It's not the system. It's a few agents trying to get more money than the system was designed to allow."

Tagliabue never made an issue out of it, the college players sure as hell weren't going to make it an issue, the NFLPA had no problem with it, and the agents were in favor of it. So who's left to complain...owners and GMs. The way I see it they get bullied by the NFLPA and threatened with a strike everytime a new CBA comes around. I give Goodell credit here for having the balls to see a problem and address it rather than just letting it slide so they don't upset the herd.

Please do NOT get Davenport.

He'd be a great #2 back, you have to admit that. Sure, he's no Duce, but he's not total crap either.

He'd be a nice contrast to Westrbook, and he's plenty capable.
